              Had a vehicle loan, I owed less than 5800, I had been paying more than required payment. Vehicle was involved in accident and was totaled, my bank/insurer contacted LGFCU, for payoff, bank sent payoff to credit union, I received a bill for 2.27 cents, I call to see what was going on. I was first told that my insurer didn't pay the correct amount, my statement proved otherwise, then I was later told I didn't have gap insurance. Sounds like BS to me, insurer requested the payoff, the amount is good for 10days, credit union receives enough funds for payoff. So no money is owed and gap insurance for something that had been paid down wouldn't be required.

              This financial institution provides very poor customer service. I have enjoyed decades of excellent if somewhat idiosyncratic service from the state credit union in SC. I am accustomed to being able to trust my financial institution. Not the case here. This institution does not return calls to discuss mortgage rates or options, does not return calls requesting help making use of their abysmal online service, and requires long holds for service that constantly conveys an attitude that your business is not wanted. I am closing my account here and will find someplace better to conduct my business. Seriously, every bank I have ever tried has been better than this.
