If this story wasnt so pathetic it would be humorous. At my last service the alert notification in the dashboard wasnt reset. I stopped this dealership yesterday inquiring as to how to reset it. The guy at the service desk informed me that I needed to ****** how to reset it! I guess ********** Mercedes in **********, ** spoiled me with their over the ************* service. This is the second bad experience Ive had at this dealerships service ***** Im on my third Mercedes and looking to purchase my fourth this year.guess where I wont take my business ??Review from Douglas S

We took our car to Mercedes South as it completed died suddenly. After agreeing to the $200 diagnostic fee, and their labor fee of $200 per hour, we were told the car needed a new *** control unit costing $1,844.74 with 4 hours of labor and the part costing $858.55. After researching this type of job. the part cost directly from MB only cost $502 and the labor is only 2 hours to do this job tops, so Mercedes South was 2X the normal time and parts cost, which in my opinion is price gouging. Then after we had that job done, they came back and said they needed to pull the valve cover off for inspection costing another $1,236.17, with another 4 hours of labor and parts $291. After researching this, the time to do this job is less than 2 hours the parts cost are less than $50, again price gouging. Then after this was done, they state the car needs a brand new engine costing $13,316.18. After having the car there for over 2 months now trying to sort all of this out. they tell us they will start charging $150 per day for storage and then after 5 day they will have the car towed to a storage lot costing even more. It appears everything Mercedes South does is 2X what the cost should actually be. I would not recommend this dealership for service to anyone. Client towed vehicle for no start issue. Tech found front *** disassemble and apart. Tech hooked up the *** and pulled codes for multiple fault codes with can network. Tech recommends replacing front *** to start with. After client authorized to replace front ***, tech replaced the *** and now has power to crank vehicle. Vehicle now turns over but will not start. Tech recommends removal of valve covers to verify camshaft position and timing chain condition. client approved additional diagnoses. After further inspection tech verified engine needs replacement. estimate provided to client which took him over two months to make a decision on the repairs. client declined repairs on March 8th, 2024, we have given the client ample time to make a decision and pick up his vehicle. Client has until March 26th, 2024, to pay his bill and pick up vehicle. If not, vehicle will be towed to Absolute Recovery at owner's expense.

I dropped by this dealership yesterday, Sept. 7th, 2023 to have my oil level checked. The service person initially informed me that I must purchase oil first before they checked ??. I reiterated that I needed them to check the level to determine if I even needed oil. My car was driven away and within 20 minutes the same service person approached me and informed me that my oil was dirty and I needed to schedule an appt for an oil change. I informed him that that wasnt accurate information since I had an oil change (as a part of my Schedule B) in May which they use, and charge additional for, synthetic oil. He then asked if the oil light came on and my response was no. The female that returned my car informed me that I needed to wait. Apparently she spoke no English and (thru an interpreter) informed me that my dipstick was broken and needed to be replaced. The initial service guy stated that the dipstick was broken off and someone had placed it in the oil pan. To shorten this story I asked to speak to a manager (*****). I explained the entire story to him. My question to him was 1) did the service person lie when he said the oil was dirty and 2) did the young lady break my dipstick and was afraid to tell me ??????????. The manager was no help. His only solution was for me to pay ****** for a new dipstick and the dealership would replace it at no service charge. Needless to say, I walked out. They definitely lost a customer. **************** came in for us to check her vehicles oil level. upon inspection technician noticed the oil level dipstick is broken. The tab is brittle and coming apart. We presented an estimate to replace the part and customer declined.Review from Darin S

I wish I would have checked this BBB site before deciding to deal with Mercedes Benz of South Charlotte. What a fool I was..... I have encountered almost every issue listed by other customers. I have not encountered any organization with a lower level of ethics and professional conduct. I share that about their sales team and their service department. I am not sure how the leadership sleeps at night or maybe they feel like sticking it to people that drive a Mercedes is a win for them. I left a detailed review on Yelp and a response from HKobolt asked for my contact information which I provided in a separate email. SHOCKER !!- he never reached out to discuss my complaint(s). I hope that if someone has a positive experience that he/she is able to share it with all of us.Review from Rhoda L.

Took my vehicle in to have the wiring harness replaced under the factory warranty. Picked up my car and had another van behind me waiting to get out of their service area so I pulled out from under their service garage and into the first couple parking spaces in their parking lot just outside of their garage. I walked around the vehicle to do a quick inspection, before leaving their parking lot and found several paint chips located in one spot between the passenger door and the front tire. I asked them to review their photos they took when I brought my vehicle in and they could not locate any of the paint chips in their pictures verifying the spots occurred while in service. Their solution was spot painting the chips as opposed to correcting the issue correctly by sanding it down, painting it, and then clear coating it. First Mercedes purchase that will be the last. Very disappointed. No integrity.Review from Andrei K

Let me begin by saying that I love Mercedes cars and I have been loyal customer for over 15 years and have purchased different models and all of them was top of the line. I usually trading my vehicles at least every 6-8 month. Always loved that you are not buying only luxury vehicles but also luxury customer service. ****************************************************************** dealer was one of the dealers I have loved to work with up until May of 2022. In May of 2022 I decided to trade in my 2021 Mercedes G63 and 2021 *** x6m Competition for something new and so I went to South Charlotte Mercedes to check it out what they have. Sale person I have always working with have showed me 2022 EQS AMG that they just received. The car impressed me 100% with the way it looks, the options and other cool stuff. So I decided to see what the numbers would look like and so we ended up making a deal even though I was very, very concerned about charging stations and I was insured by the manager that I will not have any problems at all. I was very skeptical to pull a trigger on finalizing a deal just because I have never had electric car and for me it was very new thing, but once again, I was reinsured that there are so many Chargers around the country that it will not be an issue. After driving vehicle for only 500 miles, hours, and hours of researching, I find out that this is not easy to find fast chargers and to travel on this car is a nightmare. After just a few days I called the dealer and said that they lied about easy process of finding chargers and that Im very disappointed and want to get rid of the vehicle and get something else instead, I was told that they will investigate it. I do have to mention that the car itself is amazing and futures of it are awesome. After couple of weeks dealer have not come back with any suggestions and have not expressed any interest to trade this car for me for something else. Mercedes Benz of South Charlotte has to be the worse when holding up to the quite of their vehicles. We purchased the 2017 GLE 43 AMG and within 4 months we experienced problems with the transmission. Also within that time frame well under the mileage from date of purchase, they state we now need rear tires! Explained to Sales Manager that no way those tires were in good condition at purchase and now transmission problems. Oh yea not to mention brakes were in the yellow!! Only thing he offered was for me to trade it in which I traded a 2016 CL 300 to get this one. He also was rude and very nasty and hung up phone in the process. I ADVISE ANYONE NOT TO PURCHASE there as they don't back up what they promise. I was sold a lemon of a quality car supposedly and now after 2 car payments and doing repairs up to *******. PS that's with the transmission covered under warranty. Thank God we purchased extra!
