Prior to Mr. **** purchasing the vehicle, a thorough inspection was completed by ****** Chevrolet in Morehead City, NC. At the time of inspection repairs were done by them. It was then state inspected. Over $2,000 in repairs were done to the vehicle to make sure the vehicle was a quality vehicle prior being put up for sale. Mr. **** purchased the vehicle on 04/28/22. At the time he purchased it the vehicle was running fine but the A/C was not running cold. We gave Mr. **** an authorization form to have those repairs done. He took it in 04/29/22 and picked the vehicle up on or about 05/3/22. Apparently, some other issues came up with the subject vehicle on or about 05/11/22. The vehicle was dropped back off at ****** Chevrolet on 05/11/22. They provided Mr. **** a courtesy vehicle while they did the diagnostic work. From what I understand it took some time for ****** Chevrolet to diagnose the problem. I am not sure if they repaired the issue or what but it did take some time (approx.. 4 months from what I understand) to repair the problem. During this entire time Mr. **** was provided a courtesy vehicle at no charge. So, he always had a vehicle to drive. I am not fully aware of all of the circumstances but the facts are these.
1. Mr. **** was always provided a courtesy vehicle
2. Mr. **** did drive his vehicle over 2,500 miles so, he must have had it for some in his possession in order to accumulate those kind of miles.
3 . Mr. **** did purchase an extended vehicle service contract. So, any issues will still be solved with the extended service contract should ****** Chevrolet not warrant any of the work they did.
No one can predict the future of a vehicle. All we can do as dealers is make sure we put a valiant effort in having the vehicle inspected and the proper repairs done prior to it selling. We went above and beyond in making sure this vehicle was in good repair prior to selling the vehicle to Mr. ****.
