10/30/2023 I put my car in the shop my car has not been serviced as of 1/16/2024. The company has been paid in full as of 12/28/2023. I am asking for a full refund of ******. The reason being is because they are claiming now my car is unfixable. And the date and what's wrong has changed. They are very unprofessional and are untrustworthy. It has been a hassle since day one. And they led me to my think my car would be ready 12/28/2023 and is not ready as 1/17/2024.Business response

My 2011 Chevrolet **************** had stop cranking so I searched the internet to find a dependable car shop in *********************** *** where my car stopped working at and a shop close by came up name Ash Street Automotive. So I called them and they agreed that they would come tow it to their shop and let me know what the problem was, so they called me back and said it was my timing chain and that they could have it ready for me in a few days and that the charge would be $1700 and I told them I didnt have that much money so they sent me a link to my email to apply for a company that they deal with that could loan me the money for my car repair called *****. So I did and I was approved for the amount of money they said it would cost to fix my car . It took longer than they told me and I had to pay someone to take me to work and pick me up. So I continued calling and finally they said it was ready on April 11, 2023 so when I went to get my car they charged me an extra $600.23 but never told me what it was for . When I cranked up my car it was making a noise and they said it was trash on my belt and that it would come off after driving my car for a while, but my car kept making the noise so I took it back and they kept it over night and the next day when I picked it up, they said they replaced my serpentine belt and it should be fine but the noise continued and I took it back to the shop and they said I probably need to put a heavy duty oil in my car because it had a lot of mileage. So once they told me that I decided to take my car to the dealership and paid to have a diagnostic test on it and they told me it was the timing chain. I called Ash Street Automotive and they said I had broken it driving my car with no oil , but I have receipts where I had my oil change on regular maintenance , plus my car is still under warranty.Business response

It is unfortunate that this customer is still not satisfied with the answer she was given in a court of law on Monday, 10/23/2023. She has already tried to *** us for a refund for problems with her vehicle that my shop, Ash Street Automotive, had nothing to do with and the Magistrate ruled in favor of my place of business. He cited failure to prove guilt on her behalf. Her vehicle was repaired on April 12, 2023 and in addition to the repairs *************** was charged for, we also installed a serpentine belt that was not our responsibility, I might add, at no charge to her because she claimed she was hearing a noise. She took the vehicle and we didn't hear back from her until August 10, 2023 when she arrived at my shop complaining of a rattling noise in her engine. On video taken on my phone, my mechanic and I inspected her car to find that the vehicle was 4 quarts low on oil. I then asked her if she knew she didn't have any oil in her vehicle and she said that she had recently had it serviced at Precision Tune and I have evidence of this service because I actually have a copy of the invoice. She was 300 miles overdue for an oil service at the time I inspected the vehicle but that isn't enough to constitute the vehicle being 4 quarts low. Therefore, I informed her of the situation we had and let her know that we were going to change the filter and top the vehicle off with oil so that she could at least drive it. I also informed her that the timing components in the vehicle could not withstand not having any lubrication to operate and that the damage had probably already been done. She took her vehicle and then I got a call about two weeks afterwards and *************** was at a dealership in ************, **. She had the service manager get on the phone with me and tell me that the noise was coming from her timing chains. My response to the service manager was, did *************** inform you that the vehicle had been ran almost completely out of oil since her last service at Precision Tune? She said no. Next, I received a summons for court from **************** I appeared and we won the court case based on the video and the information you have received in this response. I am sorry but there will be no refund as I would be doing my shop a financial injustice due to the fact that my shop wasn't the culprit for no oil in the vehicle and the parts failure. Yes, the parts are covered under warranty if they were themselves to fail however, they are not warrantied due to neglect by whomever is responsible for the lubrication of the parts. I understand she is frustrated with the results of what happened but as the Magistrate stated upon the ruling, her quarrel is not with me and my place of business but with Precision Tune it seems.
Sincerely,
*************************
