My son's visit to the ER occurred in Feb 2022. Per EOBs, there should be 4 bills, as there were 4 claims filed. I only received one bill (paper bill via US Postal Service) which was promptly paid. I have been waiting on the others and assumed that with Covid, they are behind like everyone else. On 5/28/2022, I received notice from a debt collection agency regarding 2 of the other bills. I have had no communication (paper, email, text, message via WakeMed's MyChart or phone call) regarding these bills. How can I pay if I don't know who to pay? WakeMed's MyChart, which is their patient portal, shows no statements after the one that was paid. It is horrible business practice to send accounts to a debt collector without billing the clients. It can reflect negatively on one's credit.
Wake Emergency Physicians, PA Response

As an emergency department staffing group, Wake Emergency Physicians, PA ("WEPPA") bills for the medical care it provides to a patient separately from the hospital. The hospital MyChart account only shows the hospital's own bills, not the bills for WEPPA or any other practice group credentialed but not employed by the hospital. When a patient comes into the emergency department, the intake information that s/he provides is provided by the hospital to WEPPA, and the address given is where we send our bill. We cannot speak to where the patient's bill was sent without additional information. We invite the customer to contact us though our website at www.weppa.org and we will coordinate directly with her to resolve the issue with our bill.Review from Lloyd M

I have tried to pay a bill for 2 weeks and I'm unable to pay online at ********************** or call no answer or extension accepted.... Horrible service and no options... What do we do? .... Wake Emergency Physicians, PA utilizes a third-party billing company. Unfortunately, the billing company's systems went offline unexpectedly in early June. This event shut down the billing company's payment portal and phonelines, and unfortunately negatively impacted patient payment efforts. Both the payment portal and phonelines are again working. We apologize to Mr. ********** for this inconvenience.
