I put my car in the shop 2 February and told them what I thought was wrong with it and if it wasnt that do not do anything else to my car unless I give them consent to do it and then they proceeded to said they had a couple options for me but they never told me the options then they called me back three days later stating that they put a used engine in my car and wants to charge me $2800Business response

To whom it may concern:
********************** did in fact have have a **** Dodge Caravan towed to our facility. He asked us to get it running. It was in a NO RUN condition. He had previously called and stated he had tried to tune the vehicle but was unable to. Upon arrival of the vehicle we noticed that the vehicle had already been attempted to work on. Plug wires disconnected, power steering lines disconnected, coolant hose clamps missing.
4 our of 6 spark plugs had been stripped and were cross threaded, He had miss matched spark plugs partially installed. He claims he told an employee he needed a ingnition module but we tested it and it was good. We proceeded to correct his spark plug mistakes and reassemble what he had disassembled to properly diagnose.
At this point we noticed he had an internal engine problem with #3 cylinder. We were able to get it running which it was not when it came to us. We advised him that he would most likely need to replace the engine because of piston damage to that cylinder. We quoted him an out the door price for a used engine at $2800.00.
He was called and declined the work. He appeared to be agitated and would not respond. Obviously he did not like our diagnosis. He claimed that he was told that we replaced the engine which we did not. We always require a deposit first in those cases.
At this point we only charged him a diagnostic fee of ***** plus tax.
********************** as of 4:00pm Feb 2-22-22 has not picked up his vehicle. We never charged hime for the time we had in the vehicle as a good will gesture.
