We live in a property managed by aspen properties. The seals in the windows are broken and a prolific amount of mold is growing between the panes of glass. It is not possible to clean. Windows need total replace. Unhealthy living conditions.

I am sorry about the seals in the windows.  I know that can be unsightly.  I appreciate you letting us know.  I know you are leaving at the end of this month.  I will look into this. Please do not worry about cleaning the interior windows.

I rented a two bedroom one and a half bath from Aspen properties for four years, (2019-2023) three of which were month to month.I am a young single mother of two children 7years old and 4 years old. We are a low income family on section 8. During my tenancy I was treated very poorly, maintenance requests were ignored most of the time and when they did send someone it was always someone unqualified and they never actually fixed the issues. We received a no fault nonrenewal. In an email sent to me from ******** she states the owner wants the unit back to do some remodeling. We had a very hard time with them changing the schedule of our walkthroughs as I wanted to be there to document everything. They ended up giving us the wrong time and did the walkthrough without us knowing and left the 24 hour cleaning notice at the old unit without letting us even know it was there we got lucky we went back by the unit so we were able to do the things listed in the allotted 24 hours. I called the office about the scheduling and ******** thought she hung up and I heard her say this girl has no coping skills she is like a five year old Im gonna need all the anxiety meds I can get to deal with this one, and she isnt getting any money back she will owe. I have all documentation of the entire situation and there is so much more to the story. In the end I saw on my portal they said I owe ******** for painting and patching my deposit was ****** and I had also paid an extra 500$ just as prepayment to stay on top of rent. The walls were not painted when I moved in and I have our initial walkthrough document from when I moved in and it states on THEIR paperwork that the walls were dirty had holes and chipped paint. I feel I have been cheated out of my deposit on top of the four years of mistreatment and discrimination against me being a section 8 single mother. If they dont make this right I will take what legal steps are necessary to make the situation right and fair.

      Dear ****************,

I am sorry you feel you were not treated correctly because you are a single mother with children.   We have worked with Section 8 for a number of years and a variety of situations and people. We check references and strive to rent to qualified tenants who will honor the contract and treat the apartment/house with care.   At your move out we did have to replace all of the carpeting in the unit due to stains and neglect.   As we discussed we did not charge you for these as 80 percent were older carpet, although the new carpet in the living room was also stained and bleached in a spot as we also discussed.

We did appreciate your trying to remedy some the damages by replacing blinds  and trying to remove the writing on the cabinets.  There was still writing on the back of one bedroom door which was missed at the walk through and was not charged to you to be fixed.

Unfortunately the numerous patches through out the unit done to the sheet rock by you were not done professionally, they looked very bad and the unit would not have been able to be re-rented in that shape and had to be redone.  When you and your father visited our office we discussed only painting and the door locks were going to be charged to you as those were both tenant damages.  We did have to pay the workers for their time and that did come out of the security deposit.

I cannot speak to the phone call as I was not present, although you had mentioned a different name when you first brought that up to the staff. I can only offer an apology for the comment  and say it is no excuse even when very frustrated, to be rude.

I am rejecting this response am rejecting this response because:Idid not receive the deposit receipt letter within 30 days. I gave Aspen Properties my new address on June 2nd and requested any further documents/letters to be sent to my new address as Aspen Properties was leaving documents for me at the unit without notifying me in any other way. Section ********* MC says you cannot keep any part of the deposit for damages or cleaning as we did not receive the receipt within 30 days. We left the unit in better condition than when we moved in, upon our intial condition of premise from September 2019 Aspen employee wrote the walls were dirty, had chipping paint and had holes. We lived in the unit for four years and it wasnt painted before moving in. I also have an email from ******* on May 2nd saying the owner planned on remodeling the unit. My deposit cannot be used for anything done to the unit that would have been done either way. Furthermore we have done research into all the people Aspen has done this to it is so disheartening but we will make this situation right for myself and everyone else this has happened to. I have all voice/video/phone call recordings along with verbal permission from anyone recorded. We expect Aspen to respect ******* law and give us our money that they owe us.
      Sincerely,

      *************************
