I had an app in July of 2023 but BCBS didn’t respond to the doctor until February 2024. The now say it falls under my deductible for 2024. The company is a ripoff. I am a teacher and other teachers feel the same. I am conservative but insurance companies like this make me lean towards socialized medicine.

ABSOLUTLY THE WORST INSURANCE EVER..... MY A1C IS 5.7 WHICH IS BORDER LINE DIABETIC. AND THEY REFUSE TO COVER OZEMPIC UNLESS IT IS 7.1..... SO IN OTHER WORDS YOU HAVE TO HAVE DIABETES IN ORDER TO GET THIS MEDICATION RATHER THAN PREVENT IT. BIRTH CONTROL IS PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE SO WHY ISNT OZEMPIC CONSIDERED PREVENTATIVE. RATES ARE WAY TO HIGH.. AETNA HAS ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES BEAT BY A LOT!!!!!!

Worst insurance around! Happily take your money every month but no where to be found when you need weightloss help or diabetes prevention ! Would rather you get diabetes or other weight related issues and deal with that when it gets here(or most probably drop you ) than provide assistance with fda proven weight loss-and diabetes remedies- the monjaro-wegovy-ozempic or even weightloss surgery … I was diagnosed as 5.8 A1c with weight of 440 pounds - (extremely close to diabetes ). Turned down multiple times for any help by bcbs - paid out of pocket 5 months for compound semaglutide (2,500$) lost over 75 pounds and a1c dropped , so it’s proven to be extremely effective! Yet ms bcbs refuses to even pay a dime - yet they take my 800$ per month proudly betting me I will get sick and need their help… sad thing is I’ve had thrir insurance over 10 years only used it for wellness checkups 1 a year - and over the 10 years maybe 3-4 walk in clinic visits for occasional antibiotics for Streep throat once , shingles once , and covid … so I’m not costing the company much money - not a sickly person - just need assistance in paying for a guaranteed drug that helps prevent future diabetes is all! 700 per month x12=8400$. X 10 years =84000$ I’ve paid them and only got probably 5 to 7k$ worth of healthcare (including yearly blood wellness checkups )! Do not recommend them at all look elsewhere!

I really wish zero stars was an option! The premium is increasing yearly & the coverage is worse! First, my toddlers need routine medications. I was sent a letter stating I only have so many refills before I have to pay full price for prescriptions. Awesome, right? Next, I received ANOTHER letter stating I have only 2 ER visits per year & each visit thereafter I have a $200 copay. The letter highly recommends taking them to UrgentCares (which rarely sees children under 2). Great news for a parent of toddlers because it’s rarely I get a legitimate diagnosis that cures their ailments, leaving me to make another bill and appointment going to their pediatrician. Lastly, the deductibles are TRASH! Meet it & STILL required to come out of pocket for fees. What’s the point? This is just a few! Overall, I highly DON’T recommend BCBS of MS. ??

The coverage is good. Don't get me wrong. But the rates are outrageous. I found a nearly identical plan with ******** for 75% the current price of my bcbsms plan. I wish I could switch but I'd lose half my doctors and for some there are no alternatives in my area. I'd just have to keep going and pay out of pocket but that makes it unaffordable. I started my plan in 2019 and was paying around $250 a month. I have had no major health issues and yet my plan goes up EVERY SINGLE YEAR. I just got my renewal notice and in 2023 I will start paying $462 a month. No coverage has changed to make it better. The only difference is the out of pocket maximum which has also gone up EVERY SINGLE YEAR. When I first signed up it was $7500 and in 2023 it will be $9100. This is ridiculous. I am paying for myself. No work or anything to help. I am a 22 year old female with no previous or current pregnancies or health issues. Why is this so expensive?

Actually impossible to reach anyone. The phone lines do not lead to a live representative. Every single option circled back to the same phone tree with no information. It states to check the website for a form. The form is available but there isn't a fax number ANYWHERE on the website. There's no fax number on the phone tree, there's no fax number on the form they tell you to send in. It must be a deliberate attempt to make it impossible to request anything from them. Why make it so difficult otherwise?

BCBS website is an exercise in planned obsolescence. It is masterfully designed to infuriate the user. Obviously, the intent here is ensure customers avoid this trainwreck of web design. Every time I submit my credentials, I am given a random error message that I have failed to meet their expectations of tech savvy. Then, magically, I'm allowed to see my records, which by the way, only provide dates and $ figures. No information on the procedures. Any period of non-activity while looking up dates or trying to correlate $$$ and I have to login all over again. Useless.

Impossible to communicate with anyone. Either no one monitors their email they give us specially for provider enrollment/credentialing questions, or they just don't care enough to answer the multiple emails I have sent them. Provider applications were termed for our providers, however when I ask them to forward me appropriate paperwork to get the provider started again, I receive no answer. It should never be this difficult to credential a behavioral health provider. I wish I could give this business zero stars
