9-26-2023 paid for repairs to my 2016 **** explorer. Trim on the front left wind shield pillar and reattachment of the number pad on the left pillar of the divers door. The repairs on the front pillar was completed at additional cost to the estimate. The number pad that was not broken, when inspected was reattached but broken in half. I was not offered any money back on labor or offer to effect repairs. I was told at an additional cost of $300.00 plus for parts, they would install at no cost. I ask if they could repair and had the estimator look and he stated that they could make the repairs, and gave no indication that they could not or that it would be a problem before any work was started. Only after I inspected the car was excuses made for the poor workmanship., the unethical behavior began.Business response

The customer came in wanting his piece by the windshield on a 2016 **** Explorer replaced. I ordered the part for him and let him know when it came in. He also wanted us to fix the pillar on the front door and not replace it because of the price of the part. He said fix the best that you can on this piece, just so it would stay on because it was loose at the top and cracked on one side. When he dropped it off, we took the piece off by the windshield to change and realized that the piece under it that it attached to was also broken and brittle. I called and let him know that that piece would need replaced also. He confirmed that it was ok to get the piece and to let him know when it came in. I did that! In putting the adhesive on the pillar piece on the door, the piece had to be taken off. The piece broke in the process but we put the adhesive on it and it stayed in place. When he came to pick it up, he was upset to see that the piece broke in to.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: the part in question was loose but not cracked , and surely not broken.
But the guy that looked at it said he could effect the repair and he himself did not say anything before or after until I found it myself.

I will order the piece for your door tomorrow when I get to the shop. You can come get it put on as soon as I can get it in. This will be at no costs to you.

It does. I have the part. It came in after lunch so let me know when you get home and we can schedule you to come in and get it put on.
