Last summer CD Strong Construction began doing work on my my home. I have damage on the roof of my home and trimming on the side of my home that I asked them to repair before I made the final payment. They promised they would repair it but haven't. They came out once and the guy said he repaired it. We had rain a couple of week ago and it's still leaking in the same spot. 3 weeks ago I spoke with **** ******** and we are now going into the 3rd week and he still has not come out to take care of it. Once when I talked to him he said he needed to get material. I told him that his company had already delivered the material 3 months ago. When he didn't recognize my number he would answer. Now when I contact him it goes straight to voicemail.Business response

We are sorry that your experience with CD Strong did not meet your expectations. We do try to go the extra mile for our customers and sometimes it still is not enough.
We have been to your property several times after your roof replacement but what we discovered and what you have told is that it is not your roof that is the problem. Your house has rotted fascia boards all the way around your house and this is what is causing your issues.
We have told you that we would be happy to provide you with an estimate to replace the rotten wood but you have decided that you would not like to pay for this. If you do change your mind we would be happy to complete the repairs for you.
Please let us know if you are interested in completing these repairs which were not part of our original mutually agreed upon scope of work.
In the meantime your roof should remain leak free for a lifetime as shown on the warranty and if this is ever not the case we will be glad to repair it.
Thank you again for your business and please let us know how you would like to move forward.
FYI - our phone system does not block any numbers and we do answer the phones 24/7 please give it a try.

CD Strong replaced my roof due to hail damage two years ago. Two roof leaks were found 7-2022, causing damage to the sides of the house, The cause was due to the first two step flashings being pulled off the roof during the removal of the roof and were never replaced, causing water to get behind the siding damaging the wood sheeting. the damage would have never been found until mold starting to show up inside the house. This is a 27 year old home and you can tell these leeks are not 27 years old . I had a contractor look at the damages and he said it was due to the step flashing not being put back on. The original bid to replace the roof included all new step flashings CD Strong used all the old flashings and didn't replace the ones they pulled off. When the first leak was found I called ***** at CD Strong , explained the issue and after sending him the photos he agreed this was due to the flashing not being replaced and it would be covered by the warranty and to send him a bill for repairs. When the siding on the other end of the house was removed we found another leak not as bad as the first one. I called ***** to let him know and he said he would send out a crew and they never showed up. I have been trying to contact ***** by phone and email with no response. I left another message with him indicating If I did not here from him today I would contact the BBB. He called back and told me this was a siding leak issue and not a roof issue and to do what ever I wanted but he would not be taking care of the damages a complete turn around. I have photos of the damages if you want them. I would like to have them pay for the damages he agreed to and now that I am retired I have the time to utilize social media, contact ***** **** and let them know how I was treated by CD Strong and if I have to take them to small claims court. And I will if this doesn't get resolved. Your time is very much appreciated. The cost of repairs is $329.10Business response

Dear *** ********,
We thank you for allowing CD Strong to complete your roof repairs three years ago and am sorry that you feel that we are to blame for your water issues to the exterior of your house, but please listen one more time - we are not to blame for your problems. I will explain below.
Your initial calls were very unusual because instead of asking us to come out to investigate your claims you insisted that it is ok and that you will take care of any issues yourself. I was surprised to see in my email an invoice from you for "repairs" that you completed on your own. If there are ever any workmanship or warranty issues on work completed by CD Strong we will correct the issue immediately.
You are very fortunate that you live in a town with a very competent building inspector who personally involves himself in every roof repair. In fact he personally comes to every roof after it is torn off and does a thorough inspection of the roof deck. He knows CD Strong well and has referred us to several people in the community because he knows that we do quality work.
I appreciate the pictures that you have added to this complaint because they perfectly state my claim that this is a siding issue and not a roofing issue. In fact the pictures that you provided separately to me have shown that the step flashing was in fact installed and in working order. The claim that we did not install the step flashing is false.
Your 27 year old house only had vapor barrier installed eight feet up the wall and ended well below the water stains on the plywood. For anyone reading this vinyl siding is NOT waterproof which is why International Building Code requires that a vapor barrier be installed behind any siding. Your walls on your house have not been waterproof for the 27 years that the house has been standing.
Attached is a diagram showing how the vapor barrier should be properly installed behind your siding and over the step flashing of the roof. Without the vapor barrier the water simply runs down the bare wall and behind the step flashing which is what is happening here.
There is a reason why CD Strong remains the number one roofer in your town to this day and it is because we provide a quality product at a reasonable price and we stand behind our work. Out of the several hundred roofs that we have completed in your town you are the only complaint that we have ever had and that alone should be a testament to our work.

I hired this company as a contractors. So far, the roof was done fine, but the gutters are a different story. The subcontractor that did that job did a terrible job. Not only was the job done incorrectly, but they left gutter material all over my yard. They left about half a dozen brackets tossed on the yard. I almost ran over one with the lawn mower. The company needs to vett their subcontractors more thoroughly. CD Strong also tried to change the price on me. I have text messages saying one thing and he is trying to get an additional $400. He told the subcontractor to go through me, not them. That is why I hired them, so I didn't have to do anything.Business response

We are very sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with CD Strong. While we make every effort to deliver a perfect experience from start to finish, we find that some customers will never be satisfied no matter what we do. You had a minor issue with a small section of gutters on your house which once you made us aware we fixed the issue the same day. You also stated that you found two small gutter hangers in your yard. We are sorry that this happened but it appears that this had no ill effects to you or your property.
In our experience most complaints stem from a financial issue for which attempts are then made to disguise as a workmanship issue. I believe this is the case here. The contract price that you signed and agreed to on 4/8/22 is the same price that we are attempting to collect from you and has not changed. We also received a check for final payment from you that bounced. When we contacted you about this your response was that it was not illegal. This is now in the District Attorney's hands and they are preparing to prosecute you for a felony.
I would suggest that you consider paying your bill plus the bounced check fee to avoid potential jail time and litigation.

I had them to put a roof on my house 2 years ago. It started leaking last year. I called them out and they said they will send some someone out. They never did. Now my roof is leaking again. I have called and reach out several times, but it goes to a voicemail.Business response

We are sorry that you were having trouble getting a response to your problem but you may have been trying to call the wrong number. If you call our main number ************ someone answers and responds to these calls 24/7. Since hearing about your problems here we immediately dispatched a repair team to investigate the leak issue. After inspecting your roof we discovered that squirrels had eaten through the rubber flashing on one of your soil vent pipes. We have fixed the problem and replaced the rubber gasket with one that will be more difficult for squirrels to eat through. We appreciate your business and are truly sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
