I contacted the company to ask why their food is so ridiculously expensive and it keeps going up even though they're using the by products that are the leftovers from the meat industry that no human wants to eat. They didn't answer that question. They are obviously getting meat at a lower cost and turning around and price gouging their customers. Their getting away with this because people need to buy the specific prescription foods.

We have fed our dogs (miniature schnauzers) Urinary SO for a few years upon recommendation of our vetrinarian. In the last 3-4 months, I have seen a dramatic change in the content of the can. 6 months ago, you opened the can and spooned 1/2 of it into a dog dish and notice there was some liquid in the can. Today it is the opposite. I poured the contents into a measuring cup and spooned out the meat. By volume, the meat represented of the quantity of the can. The other left was yellow water. I realize times are getting tough, but you will be losing customers quickly by selling them yellow water with 38 chunks of meat in. That's actually stealing, because I haven't seen our price change. Time to look around or not replace the animals upon their demise.

I was hoping to file a complaint against Royal Canin for their continuous price gauging. I had just received notice that the hepatic dry dog food is finally back in stock after almost 3 months of being out of stock. Anytime I called Royal Canin directly I got a different answer on when the food would be back in stock: 2 weeks, we have no idea, its a transportation issue and more. When I went to submit my order through Chewy the other day I noticed the price jumped AGAIN. Before it was out of stock, retail price was $125 for the 26lb bag. Now, it has increased to $135. When I first started using this formula back in August of 2021, for my dog who has liver disease, the price for the 26lb bag was $99. I am continually disappointed that the price has continued to increase without consistent reasoning from Royal Canin. When I called today, they told me the increase in price was due to inflation, transportation costs and to make the formula. I asked why did the price increase coincide with when the food came back into stock instead of months ago when inflation began affecting consumers. This company seems to be taking advantage of their customers and dont care.

I have been feeding my cat Royal Canin SO for over 7 years the price has gone from ****** dollars bag. This price gouging people when they have an animal that requires this food for medical reasons. Royal Canin should be ashamed of them self's for taking advantage of people.

Royal Canin diabetic vet formula spikes my dogs sugars so high even when I give him a little more insulin to deal with it I still cannot keep the sugars stable or from continuing to spike again.I get it down and the food spikes it back up again..all day long.My dog starts off with a good fast and gets his full dose of insulin but within 15 min his sugars are already spiked over a 100 plus points ! Even had his BG go into the ******* plus range in 15 mins on this food ! Now his full dose of insulin which was sufficient to get his normal fast down is not enough insulin to deal with the crazy and dangerous spikes from this food !My poor little dog is forced to have 2-3 injections per meal ( 1st full dose, 2nd another 1/2 unit and if I need a 3rd another 1/2 unit ) to keep the sugar down. This food is not helpful for my dogs diabetes and making him and I even more problems. Ingredients are cheap too and it surprises me they think this food is worth almost $100 per **** kg bag ? I am off to research and find another food...doesn't need to be Vet recommended either. Just keep the fat level down to prevent pancreatitis , decent amount of protein and watch the carbs ! Than you can find the right amount of insulin to work with it. Stop believing everything vets recommend..its all about $$$. Most of the vet food are junk with cheap ingredients. Use your money to find a better quality food.

My pet was prescribed with Urinary S/O. One day a batch was delivered and for a whole week she was having uncontrollable dhiarrhea, fever, and fatigue symptoms. She refused to eat. This went on for almost two weeks. My doctor could not determine the cause--it was only when I had an 'ah-ha!' moment when I realized it started happening since her new batch of food. I spent a lot of money on blood tests and money on the Vet during this time as well. Very upset.Did research apparently earlier this year or last year they changed up the ingredients without telling anyone (or had some contamination) and a lot of pets got really sick. I read about 15 pages (10 reviews or more each page) of people having the SAME exact issue--same symptoms etc since getting the food delivered this year. I have switched foods to a different brand that is also Urinary S/O as well and she has been doing well and never had same symptoms. She would NOT even touch the old food -- because she knew it was making her sick. THEY ARE NOT BEING TRANSPARENT about what is going on with the food nor are they taking responsibility. I am putting this out as a WARNING to other customers in hopes that they can save heartache as well as money spent at the doctors.

Royal Canin Persian had been unavailable for some months and when it finally came back in May I was relieved, it was the only cat food my 3 Persians would eat. A month later one of my Cats was itching himself to the point of raw bloody bald patches. I took him to the Vet twice, must of spent around $1000 on him including medications and he was still scratching himself. Then I. noticed he was eating his food weirdly, only using his front teeth. Looking this all up online everything pointed to an allergy, but as nothing had changed in his environment I couldn’t think what it could be until I realized his food had been off the market, later finding out the recipe had been changed. I immediately switched brands, all the cats ate it without being slowly introduced, within days he had stopped itching. Later comparing labels of the cat foods I couldn’t believe what was in Royal Canin, in fact it was shocking enough that I had to share my experience.

I have been feeding my senior cat the rabbit and pea canned food formula for the last five years. There have been multiple supply chain disruptions during this time. The most recent and egregious has been this year. Food was reformulated, reduced in can size and worst of all, completely unavailable. I now have to switch my 19 year old cat with IBD to another food. For a company that claims to have the well being of pets at heart, this is beyond irresponsible.

My dog has had allergies ever since he was a pup. I started him on the select PR product at his dermatologists recommendation. Last week I received a refill of his normal order of wet food from ********* and I thought it smelled different than normal. I looked at the expiration date and it was 2023 so I thought maybe the smell was because it was “really new” and proceeded to feed my dog. My dog was also diagnosed with CHF and ended up in the ER as a result of this rancid food. Sure he has CHF but it was manageable with medication, but the diarrhea and refusal to trust the food I gave him ( will the pills inside) almost ended his life. It also cost me $1700 as a result. Post ER I am feeding him Hills food and he eats every bite without hesitation. No reimbursement from RC will ever replace the stress both of us have gone through as a result. I realize it’s possible storage at RC or ********* could be the problem, but either way it’s unacceptable and I won’t trust either ever again.
