They charged me $4000 more than what they estimated, the cost of everything was quoted at $12,000 to $12, 500 and that included the drilling. I paid $15,999.00. The pump people came and they stated that the well should have never been placed where they drilled it. The quote was suppose to be for a 300 foot well but it was drilled at 220 feet. This is what the pump people said. I have low water pressure, the pump people ran my lines and hooked me up they did come back out because they did not even fill the ditch in where there were lines. They did make it better. When they came out and gave me the estimate I really wanted the well in the back of my house. They talked me into have the well placed in front of the house and approximately 15 feet away from the road. Every time I use the speck it out connected to the well house I get murky water as soon as it gets murky I have to turn it off so it will not go into my house. If I do not catch it, it will be in my toilet, washer, dishwasher, sink and the tub. I would like a properly functioning well.

Response to BBB ID # ********

This is ****, at Harker Pump & Plumbing, LLC. In response to water clarity, that would be an issue taken up with ****** ********* ***. However, I will respond to that as well. The well was drilled by ****** ********* *** in accordance with DNR regulations and the well is registered with the DNR to their standards.  When a well is estimated we use the three closest neighboring wells for comparisons.  However, sometimes there is an anomaly, as in this case. The formation was inconsistent gravel and mud and not the usual bedrock well.  Eugenia was warned she would need a filter to initially clean up the well. With all that being said, Harker Pump and Plumbing, LLC did not even drill the well and the equipment that was installed is functioning exactly as intended, harvesting the water that is available.  Payment for well drilling was not made to Harker Pump & Plumbing, LLC and we are not responsible for the quality of the water.  Furthermore, ****** ********* *** is not responsible for the quality of the water and warned the customer that initial treatment was recommended and pumping which she refused to do.

Addressing the price of the well, again we use comps and sometimes there are anomalies which all changes the price of the well. Ninety percent of the time we are correct, but sometimes things are encountered in the formation of the earth that changes the price.  This information is always disclosed to the customer.

Addressing the ditch line, the site was on a sloped hill. Excavated in high shrink/swell clay.  Ditch was covered up and looked very nice, shortly after a heavy rain came and eroded the ditch.  We warned that that could happen and returned and bladed the ditch after the heavy rain that eroded it.

To address the wells current location.  Adam at ****** ********* *** claims he tried to have her drill the well higher on the property and she insisted it lower, like most of the issue, that is between them and her. Harker Pump & Plumbing, LLC executed the job professionally as usual and provided the recommended solution available at her expense as stated from the beginning.  We have not responded to her because she does not want to pay for the filter.

I would also like to note she was going through a death in her family and was very inconsistent with decisions. As was a challenge to work for. Harker Pump & Plumbing, LLC is not responsible for the quality of the water in any shape or form but does have the solution at a cost that they will stand behind, if she is willing to pay for it.  If the BBB gives Harker Pump & Plumbing, LLC a bad review, legal action will be taken.

      Regards,

      **** ******
