We are not customers and never had contact with this business. However, the owner of the business sent deceptive advertising stating my home owner policy was ending. He sent it to my wife's old last name. This advertising is just shy of fraud.

The solicitation letters that go out are from a third party that we pay.  The letters are mailed to homeowners who have a home insurance renewal coming up according to the county reflecting the date they purchased the home.  Homeowners policies expire every year and are renewed if the company offers a renewal and the customer accepts the offer of renewal.  The letter clearly states “Don’t renew your existing policy until you’ve seen what we have to offer”.  These are simply solicitation letters for us to quote prospect’s homeowners insurance.

We have been sending these solicitation letters out since 2013 and have mailed over 500,000 of them to residents all over the Kansas City Metropolitan area.  Not one person has been adversely affected by one of these letters.  The worst that can happen is a recipient can make a 30 second phone call to us confused about the letter and we explain to them that it’s a solicitation letter and they can throw it away.

******* ******** is not a customer of ours and they have never contacted our agency according to our records.

      Thanks,

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered]

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because if you are sending out 500k letters a year and I have owned my home for over a decade statistically I should have gotten mail from you. Just by getting a BBB complaint for deceptive advertising then you should realize that there might be something wrong with your advertising. If you just said that we will remove us from your list and not contact you this would be closed. But you are pulling county records to fish for customers. Most of your response is double speak and not doing the most basic of things that is asked.

      Regards,

      ******* ********

I received an unmarked letter where the contents specified URGENT: The Insurance Policy on your Home is Expiring! This is not accurate, I've never had an account with them and this is clearly a predatory practice meant to make me call them urgently for their services.

We’ve never quoted her or called her.  She gets letters in the mail because she is in a zip code we pay to solicit.  Unfortunately when you buy zip codes to mail solicitation letters to they do not let you scrub the list or leave people off the mailing list.

      Thanks!
