On 7/15/2021, a roofer from Gateway came to do an estimate on our roof on some leaks we have been experiencing. Without consulting us, the caulked the roof and then charged us $200. At no time were were informed they would be doing work or that they would be charging for a service call. When calling, it was stated we were just looking for estimates. After contacting Joe to let him know the situation, he yelled at us on the phone that we shouldn't be looking at multiple companies and then said he was going to send the roofer back to wipe the caulk off. We did not want them on our property again and feel that would have caused more damage. Very unprofessional companyBusiness response

BBB COMMENT BY STAFF SKW:
she called us out to do a repair. Then once we did the repair she didn't want to pay for it.
When we are finishing repairing the roof the husband came out and said he only wanted an estimate.
He said he didn't want it fixed he was planning on suing who put the roof on.

I am rejecting this response because:We never asked for them to fix anything on our roof. We only asked for them to give an estimate on what the repairs would be as we were gathering bids from different companies. Their business card literally reads free estimates. We also never indicated that we would be replacing our roof or suing the original company who put on our roof because that thought has never once crossed our mind.
At this point as long as we owe them no money and we have their word they will not come onto our property to try and remove any of the caulk that was placed (which didn't help with the leaking anyway) then this complaint can be closed. I just want that guarantee at this point.
