I originally went to Georges because of the reports and long-standing business that is known in the city. I was sad to find out that I was mistaken when I was taken advantage of and spent thousands over what would be fair and respectful. The manager **. at the store and I had discussed replacement on a love project of mine for months, going over things that it would need and he was willing to work with me if I found an engine. I Scheduled the repair at no certain urgency to the end date of the repair. I checked in and made sure things were going ok and supplied tires and needed parts. The price was discussed several times in the ballpark of 3-4k for the engine installation and wiring repair. I talk with the tech, he said that the wiring wasn't bad and that it shouldn't be a problem to get things running again with the harness I supplied. I felt very bait and switched when **. said that my bill would be $6000+ I was in shock as I was not expecting such a bill because we had already discussed the repair as around 4k then told me that was just for the engine install and the wiring was more on top of that and repeated talked over me and said, we talked about it, we talked about that. We never had. I felt trapped since they had my car and I didn't want a lien against it. So we made a payment plan to resolve the balance which they discounted down to 5900. When I picked up my car there was an oil leak which they refused to fix and claimed it was damaged before the engine replacement but this was never said to me while they were repairing it. I had to pay another 450 to get them to fix it. After reviewing the invoice it seemed I was charged full labor for jobs that normally would be next to none since the engine was already removed from the car. The full replacement of the engine suggested 18 hours of labor at the rate of 150/hr is 2700 and I was charged much more than that. They also told me they discounted their labor rate to 120 for me which is also false.Business response

Mr. ****** towed his Volvo to our shop. After inspecting the vehicle we
advised Mr. ****** that due to the engine damage and rodent damage.
Repairing the vehicle would easily exceed the value of the vehicle and
advised him to get another vehicle.
Mr. ****** wanted to proceed with repairs but wanted to supply his own
parts and engine. We agreed as long as there was no warranty on his parts or
engine from us. After repair was finished; Mr. ****** complained on agreed
price. We lowered our price by back dating labor rate change. He agreed;
before picking vehicle up he wanted our services again to mount and balance
four new tires he provided. Two weeks after picking vehicle up Mr. Salyer
called and said the vehicle was running great. There is nothing we can do
for Mr. ******.
Sincerely,
GEORGE’S IMPORTS, LTD
