I had a new roof put on about a year ago. My home has gutter guards. We noticed getting some water in basement so had gutters inspected. Four downspouts were clogged exclusively with roofing materials. The gutter cleaner showed me and took pictures. Bill was $295. I paid the bill and informed Vaught of my dissatisfaction with their lack of disposing of roofing material properly however did not demand Payment as reimbursement as I felt they should Volunteer to do so.Business response

One of my secretaries left me a note on Monday May 24th, 2021. The note said "**** ****** called. He said his basement took on water and it's because the downspouts are clogged with roofing debris. Others are taking all downspouts apart and are finding roof debris in them. He wants to encourage the guys to pay more attention to the downspouts than their music." That is the information I was given. I did take the complaint seriously and discussed it with my supervisors at our weekly supervisors meeting on Thursday May 27th, 2021. From the information I received, I thought Mr. ****** was having some guttering work done and that is why he discovered roofing debris in his downspouts. He did not say anything about what it cost him to have this gutter work done so it would be hard to offer to reimburse him without know what it cost him. As he mentioned, we replaced his roof almost exactly 1 year ago in conjunction with a room addition he had done by others. Also as he mentioned, he has a heavy gauge gutter screen on his gutters. We do not typically remove gutter screens when we replace a roof. I have know idea how we would clog his downspouts with roofing debris if the gutters were covered with a gutter screen but I guess anything is possible. Ultimately I would be happy to discuss the matter with Mr. ******. If I had known he was this upset I would have already contacted him, but from the information I was given, I honestly thought he was just giving me information to help me improve our service.
