  Jerry sawyer owner of alans asphalt is now **** ********** he scammed us on asphalt saying he had leftovers then tried to up the price after he said he didn't have enough. I paid him for what he did but he damaged our fence I kicked him out

  I purchased a home in a home in another state (Kansas for pre retirement planning) and I wasn’t moving in right away. After I bought it i was at my sisters house in Oklahoma when Alan stopped by offering an asphalt service. (Should have seen the red flag but I trusted him) I thought perfect because the home I just bought didn’t have a garage so I thought yea let’s do this in preparation to build a garage. First he did my sisters drive (knowing she was currently battling cancer) then he brought his crew to my house in Kansas. During crossing the state line he told me he was too heavy so he violated DOT policy and was avoiding the police, red flag number two I ignored. I figured he knew what he was doing because that was his business so I trusted him when he said put the asphalt on top of the grass and just apply a weed/grass killer. I bought the brand he told me to which was $80 for one container. I paid him $5,000 cash for this job. I applied it then I had to leave to go back to Indiana. Next trip back I saw the grass growing through the asphalt and breaking it up. I tried to call him MANY times and every time he would say he was in the hospital. Oh not to mention his job at my sisters house didn’t do what he promised either and her medical expenses are at about 1 million right now. I got tired of trying to get in touch with him because if he did answer he had an excuse or he just avoided my calls. NO ONE SHOULD EVER GIVE THIS MAN MONEY EVER AGAIN!! I have now had to hire a proper contractor to rip up what he did and redo it. I want my money back!!!!! I am retired Army and currently work DOD at the Pentagon.

  You cant put a warranty on ground up asphalt, She was told that they would probably put the garage up over the asphalt, the asphalt we provided was a base layer for the garage.

  I am rejecting this response because:
  What he told me to do to keep the grass from totally ruining it did NOT work. Also I tried to contact him MANY times and he was so rude and had nothing but excuses why he couldn’t talk to me. He then just ignored my attempts to get his assistance. My sister tried to contact him also for the work he did for he and he threaded her and told her he would block her phone. 
  The basic work was not professionally done and the instructions provided DID NOT work. Then he just cuts off all contact with his “customers”. Absolutely horrible business practices and shotty work at best. 
  Had he kept communication opened and attempted to make it right things may have turned out different but he doesn’t attempt to provide any assistance once he does the “work” and just hopes people will go away. After I got him to do it and realized how difficult he is to deal with I went online and noticed MANY complaints. He just seems like an out right scammer.

  This purchase was ground up asphalt. It is not a hard surface asphalt. She knew this when she purchased this. She was told to use weed killer to deal with weed issues. This was used as a base to put down before concrete. Concrete goes on top of this to make a solid surface.

  If he looked at the photos and what I wrote I DID apply many applications of the weed killer HE told me to purchase and it DIDN’T work as I noted. 
  We NEVER discussed putting concrete on top of it. He was fully aware this was all I was going to use. I reverified with him at the time of application that it would work all by itself and he told me YES and he had had many other do the same thing. I trusted him as a “professional” to provide me with guidance and support for what I needed. I received none of that. He just started being rude when I would contact him like I was a bother. He is NOT professional and does not guide his customers in the right direction. Promises results he cannot deliver them cuts communication and one can only assume because he knows it was a bad decision by the customer that he can’t support in the future.

  I had my driveway paved by ****'s Asphalt construction of Buckner, Mo, just this last week. Fence line trees removed and driveway sealed twice. Started out charging me $7,000 to $8,200 then bumped up to $13,000. In addition to the final $13,000, The final charge was $25,500. **** asked me for the $25,500 after he was half way through the yardwork. I asked for an itemized receipt of what the money was spent on, but got the run around. **** was the only name I got but I've had no luck with that. I still have all the texts with him. I'm a disabled veteran on lots of medication for my spinal cord disease. Oftentimes I get confused when people talk to me about things. When my son ****** came to my house he was really mad! When ****** explained to me what was going on, then I was really mad. Come to find out that **** was on Fox4 problem solvers. This Disabled veteran would like to get back at least $20,000 of that $25,500 he had taken me for granted of. The bank called me and said that **** was trying to get the $25,500 check in cash, but he had to have it in a Cashier's check. His son, *******, told me to write the check out to ***** *******. I was confused on what was going on so I wrote it out to this name. They would not finish the job unless I paid them, so I had to pay them. The date was October 28th the check was taken to the bank and a Cashier's check was given. I need help and this man and his people need to need to be brought to justice. Attached is a picture of an updated phone number.
