  Would avoid working with Midwest Construction at all costs. The owners are quick to make commitments and request money, however will not complete the job. They tore out half of my driveway, didn't deliver on commitments they made and told me the fees would increase, when requesting the reason why the owner Frank threatened to pull his crew from the job...which he did. Frank the owner was extremely unprofessional, swearing in front my 4 year old. I spoke with a local builder about Midwest Construction, he has had multiple issues. They claim they can do a one day install by laying base and installing asphalt same day...do not do this. Feedback from others in the construction industry is they only lay minimal base, barely compact it and skimp on asphalt. Ask these 5 star reviews how their driveway has held up a year later...they would likely change their opinion.

  On8/20/21 Dan ******** Contacted Angies Leads to find a contractor to do his driveway so he contacted us Midwest Construction. I Personally spoke to Dan over the phone and Told him my son Buddy was in the area paving a Driveway and I could have him stop by and give him a Quote. He said that would be great. So Buddy stopped over gave him a Quote. Dan Text me and said Frank great meeting buddy today we are a go let me know what time works next week. I replied no worries it will be Wednesday or Thursday I will call you Tuesday afternoon and let you know for sure thank you.

  Then he replied back which I don’t know what this meant but I do have a text to prove it I know buddy is your son but if he doesn’t work out I will gladly hire him for a sales job. ?? So yesterday August 25 the guys arrived on the project which is Dan’s house at 3610 Westview Dr., Deephaven, MN around 830 8:45 AM. They started ripping out the driveway, Dan approached one of the operators which is Steve and ask him to push over a pole which Steve did. After that sometime Dan ask him to take the tree down Steve replied by saying no I can’t do that you will have to talk to Frank at that point they called me. 

  So I left the other project to drive over to Dan’s house. He came out and that’s the first time I had ever spoken to Dan in person. I shook his hand I’m Frank nice to meet you so after that we start talking about the driveway. I thought the driveway went all the way over to the right where it was and then over to the tree he said no we’re cutting 3 foot or 4 foot off the driveway and moving it over toward the tree but the tree needs to be taken down. I said we don’t do tree work and I’m not tearing up an $80,000 bobcat trying to take a tree down. He replied by saying buddy said he would the contract says nothing about trees whatsoever and Buddy is not gonna tell someone something that he can’t do or won’t do. So it got into a little heated discussion and I said for my guys to load equipment up we’re done after we had hauled off two loads of ripped up asphalt out of his driveway. So he walked out to the street to my truck telling me I don’t pay for lawyers Frank you’ll be hearing from me. I said that’s fine you do what you need to do or what you think you need to do but I have taken no money from you nor have I ask you for any money.  So the work that we did we did for free and I don’t appreciate you guys saying that I was cussing in front of your four year old when I was never around no kids I was out in my truck on the street.

  Hello-

  I am attaching images of my driveway in its current state.  I have no means in which I can safely use our driveway.  I have small children and this is a hazard.  I did reach out to Frank yesterday after the incident asking to find resolution and if he could finish the job, his instructions were to go hire someone else.  They aren't going to come back into my area.

  Regarding fees.  Frank indicated during his heated dialog that he hadn't ordered enough material for my driveway.  

  I put my son to bed last night asking me why "that big man was swearing at me."  Frank did not nicely introduce himself and didn't shake my hand.  He stormed past me as I extended my hand out and introduced myself.  He flew past me and told me he "wasn't in the (bleeping) tree business. 

  After Frank left, Buddy and others did attempt to remove the tree.  Buddy acknowledged our discussion regarding removing it and did what he could.  I then ran to a rental shop, got a stump grinder and removed the stump...it took less than 45 minutes round trip.  Buddy indicated his dad has a very bad temper and he has no plans to help me with my project.

  I extended the opportunity nicely to continue the relationship and Frank refused.  I am now left with a broken, unsafe and usable driveway.  I still wish he would come around finish the job.
