This rental company has placed damages against me for absurd and unfounded amounts. I attempted to handle it outside collections by sending them photos of the apartment unit prior to my leaving, and they refused to negotiate an amount. The company was negligent in managing the apartment and communicating discrepancy issues and are now trying to money grab what they can on the way out by placing the account with collections and refusing to settle even once placed.Business response

*******, you left the apartment with damage, above normal wear and tear. The statement was mailed out to you, it gave a specific period to discuss charges, please contact our staff to discuss your frustration. Our office is open between 9 am thru 5 pm. Monday thru Friday. I am rejecting this response because:
This company is notorious for not communicating in a timely manner or at all by both phone and email. The matter appears to not require any handling with them directly as theyve passed it to a collections agency already who says **** does not accept settlements. A dispute will need to be entered with that company to obtain an itemized statement of costs for alleged damages and their repairs.Business response

******, kindly contact ******************* at MCC collections agency, ************. They will assist you with a settlement. Thanks! As stated in the previous email you moved out, and left damage above normal wear and tear. The carpet required replacement, please call to discuss the damages. The collection agency is handling this situation.
