Workers utilized my bathroom on multiple occasions and one of those occasions, flooding the bathroom to the point getting my children's board games wet and my brand new carpet saturated. this was without my permission as I was not home. The carpet is less than 3months old and cost over 3grand. I had to have a fan run on the carpet for 3 days for it to dry. The email ******** from the business was " Very sorry about the bathroom situation. They do not usually use anything in the homeowners house without permission. I will speak with them about that." We also had an agreement that if I dug the window well hole it would be $500 off of the total price. Another thing is that we were never told we would have to back fill the hole in, just dig the hole so it came to quite a surprise that there was a significant amount of dirt that needed to be retrieved to fill in the large space around the window. no where does it state in the contract or emails with you that it would be our responsibility to finish filling the hole. With talking to one of the gentleman, he stated, I don't know what your contract says or what you talked about with **** but "call and complain and they will send someone out to do it if you really want." Again, if this would of been discussed prior it would be different, but to come home at 5pm to people leaving what I would assume a finished job in the condition i found it was quite a surprise. That, with the weather, and the dirt freezing, the need to fill it almost immediately was frustrating as well. **** ******** to this was "The backfilling is usually part of the hole digging. We didn't discuss that detail. I've actually never had a homeowner dig their own hole, so this is a learning experience for me as well as far as the back filling. With that said and the incident with the bathroom. I can take care of the backfill g. Do you have the dirt there and want me to use? Or a I can bring dirt to fill it in."

I apologized to ****** for the guys using the bathroom without permission. Offered to pay for the carpet cleaning. Which she agreed too.

She emailed me this morning and said there is drywall damage as well and she is filing a complaint. I offered to fix that as well but she is not wanting me to. She would like money off of her **** instead. Without seeing or knowing the extent of the damage, I dont know what the cost to fix would be. I'd like to know what amount of money she would accept in order to resolve this.

      Thanks

I am rejecting this response because:
I am rejecting this response because: He only offered to pay for carpet cleaning after I requested it.  Also, I am not a contractor so I do not know how much it would cost to replace the drywall but I have included pictures to show how high the water level got in the bathroom as evidence of the water stains on the wood.  I also do not think it is unreasonable to not allow the company I have complaints against fix something that should of never happened in the first place.  I have called to get estimates but due to the holiday season and everyone being so busy, it will be at the very least 1.5 months to get an estimate.  Minnesota home improvement should understand this as it took over 4 months for them to do my project.  Now, I will have to take a day off of work for the carpet to be cleaned, a day off for the drywall estimate, and another day for it to be done.  Since I have no knowledge in this area of work and he is requesting an amount that I would be happy with, after research on ******* I think $2000.00 is a reasonable amount.

I am willing to to do $1,000. I am a contractor and know what it takes to fix such items. I also know that the toilet has flooded prior to this as the owner told me this and the guys onsite and that's why they weren't using the toilet at the time.

I actually changed window manufacturers with the approval from ****** in order to get the window faster so I could get her job done for her before winter. I have many, many other window jobs that having been waiting twice as long as that and are still waiting. Unfortunately windows are one of the hardest items to get right now.

So we would credit the $450.00 for digging the hole and the additional $1,000.00 for the toilet incident.

      Thanks

In the fall of 2016, Minnesota Home Improvement replaced the roofs on my house and garage. In April, I called to state that there were shingles on the ground. It turns out a section of the ridge cap fell off. Since I was within 5 years, it was still under warranty. My husband and I have been calling since April and they are just sending us to voicemail and haven't returned our call to see when it will be fixed. Desired Resolution - fix the roof or I can get a quote to have it fixed and they reimburse me.
