BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints. The business offers a no-cost seminar, where a $997 three-day training session is offered. At the training sessions, consumers are encouraged to to sign up for consulting services at a much higher cost. Consumers have alleged high pressure sales after attending the training session. Consumers who have purchased the consulting services have claimed the business did not provide the resources or support as promised. Seller's Playbook Inc., has responded to all complaints, but has not resolved the complaints.
In January 2018, BBB offered to provide arbitration services to resolve a dispute with one of their customers. On February 8, 2018, Sellers Playbook Inc. declined that offer, as well as an offer to come in for an in-person meeting with BBB representatives about the pattern of complaints which has developed. Matt Tieva, owner of Seller’s Playbook Inc., has responded to BBB via email. Additionally, BBB is aware of two cases where the company has offered resolutions contingent on customers agreeing to remove negative comments from BBB’s website.
On the homepage of their website, the company offers clear earnings disclaimers and states they are an independent, third-party training company not affiliated or endorsed by Amazon.com, Inc or its affiliates.
As with any business offer, BBB encourages people to do their due diligence and be clear on all the terms and conditions before signing an agreement.
Seller's Playbook, Inc., provided the following statement: “We offer training and services for sellers who use online marketplaces and their ever-changing rules, gates, restrictions and guidelines. We assist with setting up and running their stores correctly, because it has become a frequent occurrence that novice e commerce entrepreneurs have had their stores shut down and even banned from the online marketplace platform for simple mistakes they could have avoided. Again, yes, we offer additional services and they are not free, but they are, as with any purchase, a choice based on the needs of the individual."
BBB encourages consumer to always read contracts in their entirety, including any clauses that could affect their legal rights.
