On August 22, 2024, the businesses, T & T Waterproofing & Drain Tile and Brian's Insulation entered into a joint Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 (b)(8), 326B.805, subds. 1 and 3, 326B.84 (2)(12)(2022) and Minn. Rule 2891.0040, subps. 1B and 1E (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed that T & T Waterproofing & Drain Tile will cease and desist from acting as or claiming to be a residential building contractor, remodeler or residential roofer in Minnesota until they are properly licensed; to no longer advertise services which require a license until they are properly licensed. Brian's Insulation agreed to transact business only in their licensed name and will not file for permits unless they are under contract to perform the work.
The business, T & T Waterproofing will also pay $3,500.00 of a $7,000.00 fine, with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority. The business, Brian's Insulation will also pay $2,000.00 of a $4,000.00 fine, with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
