      I submitted an online application for a Gaughan property with a $500 deposit on behalf of an elderly woman whom I volunteer to help. She decided to cancel the application because she found other housing accommodations. It's been over 2 months since the application was canceled and the deposit has not been refunded. I've called countless times and sent countless emails, including the receipt for the deposit and all prior correspondence. Both the property manager and Gaughan headquarters do not return calls or emails, although I have made my case very clear. My calls are simply forwarded to an answering machine that never returns the call. They have promised me multiple times that the refund check is in the mail but nothing has arrived. Gaughan is taking advantage of an elderly woman who would be completely powerless were I not advocating for her. This is predatory, unprofessional and negligent business practice and I recommend an investigation and revocation of any accreditations for Gaughan.

      ********, thank you so much for bringing this issue to our attention. I have confirmed that check #**** for $500.00 was mailed from our corporate office in *********** on Friday 11/4/22. Please see your email for my confirmation there as well. I apologize for the delay in processing this refund; due to the way that the application was coded in our internal systems (cancelled vs. denied application), there was an issue with processing that led to a delayed response time. As such, we have reevaluated our processes so this issue will not occur in the future.       I'm scared to move out w/out being taken advantage of - take note of the HIGH NUMBER OF GOOGLE REVIEWS WARNING OF THE MONEY STEALING they will attempt upon move-out. I would post negative stars if I could - to give an understanding of the AWFUL quality of Property Management at Village Apartments. Call in to maintenance after-hours? Forget about a courtesy call to let you know how to handle this problem or that they aren't going to address your issue that evening. Regardless of whether it WON'T ALLOW YOU TO SLEEP or not (broken refrigerator compressor that was shaking the entire unit & could be heard out in the hall; carbon monoxide alarm going off every 30 sec). As an added bonus, expect a Quality of Life issue that "doesn't qualify as emergency" AT LEAST ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS of your residency here. On top of MISLEADING price quotes on apartments.com (to lure you in), MONTHS of delays & absolutely no communication regarding reported maintenance issues. Proactive communication doesn’t seem to be within the skillset of employees/property managers at Gaughan Properties. TRY YOUR LUCK ELSEWHERE. Save yourself the pain, frustration, and mental anguish. My carbon monoxide alarm (you know...the ONLY device that can detect this toxic invisible gas that could kill me) had been broken since 9:02pm Monday, May 23, 2022. I called after-hours emergency maintenance 3 freaking times to even get a call back. What was the poor dispatch lady told to relay to me BY THE APARTMENT MANAGER, MORIAH? "This isn't something considered an after-hours emergency, so she told me to tell you someone would be by to take a look at it tomorrow." After 2 weeks, still NO ONE HAS SHOWN UP. I called yet again and they finally fixed it on June 6th. **July 1, 2022 Update: I wish I could make this up. But, they've now cut access to online portal so I can't even pay rent. If that's not retaliation for sharing my honest feedback about the nightmare of living here, I'm not sure what it is.**

      I signed a new lease agreement in March that said I would owe a specific amount come June. I paid said amount and they are now saying I owe them more money because it wasn't the proper amount for my rent. I have it in writing that I would owe the amount agreed upon in the new lease agreement. They are not very organized about the new lease agreements or what each tenant is suppoaed to pay.

      I've lived at braham meadows for many years now and I do have to say that it was a dump and I was embarrassed to even live here. We hadn't had a manager on site for a very long time so you can imagine what it was like living here. January they hired a manager to live on site and we didn't think she would last 6 months and here we are 6 months later and she is still going strong and not giving up on us. I've never seen someone work so hard as she does every single day. She has turned this place around 100? making this place feel like a home that we can be proud of. She knows each and every one of us by name and works hard for us. She does fun things for the kids here like she did a big easter egg hunt, she delivered a box of chocolates to each apt for valentines day and hand delivered a beautiful carnation to every mother that lives here for mothers day, we have never seen that here before. She doesn't judge, she's patient and kind and she works with us and we know that we can go to her about anything big or small and she will make the time to talk. Gaughan did a good thing by hiring Kim and I just really wanted to say thank you, we don't ever want to see her go and I hope Gaughan is taking good care of her because she is taking good care of Gaughan and their tenants. Thank you
