This contractor installed our heating and air-conditioning in a brand new home and has yet to resolve a deficiency with the air conditioner condenser mount. The mount is broken and the air conditioner is sagging away from the house. This is a cosmetic issue but also likely causing unnecessary wear on the new condenser in that it’s not mounted level. I have repeatedly asked for this to be corrected and the contractor has ignored me.Business response

The a/c was installed properly I told Tom that I would level it then the landscapers hit the bracket and broke the pad. Now the a/c needs a new bracket and i gave them a price to fix it but nobody wants to pay me for this repair that isnt my fault..Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
Xtreme installed the condenser mounting bracket and the condenser incorrectly or with a defective bracket well before any landscaping took place. Xtreme acknowledges this in their statement “I told Tom that I would level it”. I have attached a photo that shows the condenser sagging as it does today PRIOR to any landscaping being started. If you zoom in to the compressor unit you can see that it is out of plumb using the siding as a reference. Condition still exists today. After this, the landscape crew commenced work and cracked the plastic base that sits on top of the bracket. The bracket appeared to be in the same condition as it was previously to the base damage. The landscapers paid Xtreme for replacement of the base, but no work was done to replace/repair the bracket. If Xtreme is claiming that the bracket was damaged by the landscape crew, why did they not repair it at that time and invoice the landscaper for it at that time? It was only after this transaction took place that Xtreme made this unfounded claim. As a matter of fact, the owner of Xtreme was on site for another repair in the neighborhood after the plastic base had been replaced and I called him over to look at the bracket. At that time, he agreed to fix the issue without any discussion about cost. At that time, it appeared to me that he was finally taking ownership of the tilted bracket, but I never saw or heard from him again. Unfortunately, this contractor has been very difficulty to reach, historically does not return calls, and previously charged me (I paid) to resolve an issue that I believe was a deficiency in the initial installation of my furnace.
