    ******************** was sold to Proof Pest Control but continued to take the monthly *** payment from my checking account. There is no way to reach *******. Their website is down and their number directs to a Proof Pest Control ************ They are ghosts in the wind. Meanwhile, I spoke to Proof and asked to discontinue service and refund the *** payment of $47.99 taken on 11/14/24. The first time I called, Proof said they could not refund the payment since I had service performed in November. The second time I called, a manager (*******) told me they could not refund the money because it was taken by Victory (who is now an unreachable ghost), not Proof, and as of 11/12/24, Victory's *** was shut down and they (Proof) have no access to it. When I pointed out that the *** was taken on 11/14/24, she told me *** payments can take up to 2 business days to go through.1) I signed up for service with Victory, not Proof.2) *********** performed earlier this month by Victory should have been covered by my October payment of $47.99, so that line of reasoning is a steaming load.3) The manager's explanation makes sense, unfortunately. In summary, the local boys at Victory stole my November $47.99 and ran. They sold out to a national company and made sure I couldn't do anything about them taking my money since they closed up shop and left Proof holding the ******* do you charge me for November... and then close in November? Did you really need the $47.99 that bad? Is that how much a drink costs in ****???Since I cannot file a complaint against Victory, I am filing one against Proof. Maybe they'll take another look and find a way of refunding my $47.99 after all.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

    I attempted to call ***** today as requested. I dialed the number listed and selected "2". When the *** answered, I asked for ***** at the extension she gave. I was informed that ***** no longer worked in "this department" and "this building". The *** was polite and said someone would call me back, but not *****. I informed her it was in regards to this complaint.

    I'm not sure what else to do.

    I have been with Proof Pest Control for over a year. I called customer service today to cancel my contract and they will not do it unless I pay for the month of ***. I pay approximately $600 a year, $48 a month for their services and they come every 3 months. I do not feel that I should pay the $48 for *** just to close account. Thank you.

    May 4 2023 Proof Pest Control put ****** on my credit card without authorization. They did not confirm the name on the card and they did not confirm that the owner of the card authorized the service. I had both the company and the bank on the the phone. The company agreed that they put through the charge but that they are refusing to refund me. They agreed that my name did not match the name of the person ordering the service. They agreed that this was definitely not me yet they decided to keep my money regardless.
