On October 30, 2019, I purchased a new GMC Acadia from Moran Buick/GMC as a three-year lease. At the time of the lease, I was told this was a new car. As I am now turning in the vehicle, I was informed that there was a Carfax report stating that there was an accident with the vehicle. The accident was dated in July 2019. This happened before I took possession of the vehicle and while the car was in the possession of Moran GMC or its agents. I believe I should have been informed of this when I purchased the car. It was not new, it had been damaged and repaired unknowingly to me. Upon finding out that the car had been in an accident, I reached out to my salesperson and was told that the dealership did not have to disclose the information to me because damage was under $2,500. But they did tell ******. If Carfax was notified, I believe I should have been notified, because this has reduced the value and equity of my car. I believe the dealership was deceptive and that I paid too much for the car since it was used and damaged. At this time I am requesting a refund of a portion of my monthly payments, to compensate me for the misleading sale and the loss of resale value. Please refund me 30% of the payments I have made on this used vehicle for the duration of the lease.Business response

This vehicle was leased as a used vehicle and prior to the customers purchase this vehicle was in our loaner program that was available through General Motors. A customer that was driving it when their vehicle was in for service got in a minor accident and the customers insurance paid to have it fixed at our body shop. Since this vehicle was purchased used we are not required to report any damage. I guess the customer went to another dealership to turn in her leased vehicle and now the vehicle has been resold as of 10/13/22. We have no idea what condition the vehicle was in when she turned in her lease to another dealership. If the vehicle performed to the agreement of the lease and they turned back to GM we believe that the vehicle lease termination was complete. We don't feel there is any responsibility for us to participate in the customers lease payment.
