Clark & Clark Accounting, Inc., provides tax preparation and accounting services. I previously lived out of state, and moved back to ******** two years ago. I only became a ******** resident again in 2022. June of this year, I submitted my W2 forms from each of my previous former employers to **** Clark, all of which, included my name, correctly spelled, and my permanent address, where I resided at the time of employment. I submitted my 2019 - 2022 tax returns this year, 2023. I informed **** Clark that he misspelled my first name on both my 2021 and 2022 tax return forms that were submitted to the **** He additionally misspelled my name differently from the previous misspelling, on another document of my 2022 tax return forms, that fortunately, was not submitted to the **** Unfortunately, however, he misspelled my last name, on my 2019 forms. My parents also had their tax returns prepared by **** Clark, and the three of us share the same last name, which he is aware of. Nevertheless, his ineptitude led him to misspell mine. I addressed the various misspellings of my name, both my first and last name, and requested that he make the corrections prior to submitting the forms to the **** He refused and submitted them unchanged, with multiple misspellings, different spellings each year. The only year that my name, both first and last, were spelled correctly, was on my 2020 forms. I was a resident of another state for over a decade. My permanent residence, and therefore my permanent address was not a ******** address, until 2022. All four years **** Clark used my current ******** address for my tax return forms, although I was a resident of, and he filed my state taxes in, another state. My IRS account has been blocked/suspended because of identity fraud concerns. My identity cannot be verified. Lastly, **** blamed his multiple and separate mistakes on the forms I sent him having mistakes, rather than him making mistakes. Needless to say, he never apologized.

************,brought 4 years of Taxes to be done at once during peak time of Income Tax Season; having a very large client based I delegated her taxes to one of my junior tax preparers. while the Taxes were prepared correctly, yes her name was misspelled in 2019, however our tax software rolls over all information to the following year, and the we merely put het Income and expense information into each return. Yes it was a typo that included a letter that did not belong in her first name. Yes, we sent 1040X returns to explain the error on our part in misspelling ************. Further, we filed the Tax Returns to the State she was living in, and did use her new ******** address as any correspondence would need to come to her current address. However, ************ did not reach out to us until late October, 2023 about the misspelling error. I priority mailed 1040X's to her. If I misspelled her name in the Amendments I do owe her an apology for that.  But I should point out she became verbally abusive on all phone messages, thus we made the decision that we would no longer bill her for services but provide no further services. I should point out that I am still preparing her parent's taxes. She received her Taxes in June for the 2019-2022 Income Taxes and did not notice the spelling error until October. Once again I will take full blame for the error but do not feel I owe ************ an apology in light of her abusive behavior after the fact.

I am rejecting this response because:

Im writing this response directly to **** Clark.

      ****,
Things would have played out much differently if you would have exercised a little bit of humility. We all make mistakes. We are human. Your inability to hold yourself accountable, and the speed in which you throw one of your junior tax preparers under the bus truly saddens me.

Although you and I BOTH are well aware that I made it very clear to you when I first received the documents, spring 2023, that you sent me with my name misspelled, that I wanted you to correct the spelling of my name PRIOR to you submitted my tax returns to the **** lets set that aside for now.

Of our most recent correspondence, I reached out to you by email and phone on a Monday, the first week of December. You did not make me or my concerns a priority, as you returned my call three days later on Thursday. I expressed urgency and left multiple messages, and you took three days. A three-day turn around time, during off peak times. Is that acceptable? December is not during tax season, so if anything, you should have been able to have attended to me and my concerns in a far more timely manner than that.

Had you made an attempt at that time, to remedy/resolve the situation, maybe things would have been different. All the documents that I have been receiving since June 2023 have my name misspelled, including my refund checks, which I cannot deposit because the name on the checks do not match my photo ID. Every single *** form and document that I receive from the ************************* does not match any of my personal identification documents. I dont think you realize the stress that comes with having to prove that you are you to the government when all your personal identification documents are correctly spelled and yet, your identity still cannot be verified. ****, its all the ramifications that come with your error and your unwillingness to correct it in a timely manner. It has snowballed into something that it did not need to be.

****, you made a mistake. You actually made several errors and mistakes, AND you are human. We all are. I make mistakes too. *** made several errors and mistakes in my lifetime as well, and I apologize. I hold myself accountable. ****, youre old enough to know that you cannot blame everyone else for your errors or mistakes. You cannot blame others for your mistakes, ****. You get to keep those for yourself. Your junior tax preparer is not to blame for my misspelled name, nor is your assistant. I dont expect an apology from you because I suspect your ego isnt quite there yet. However, just know that its ok to make mistakes, just acknowledge them and apologize. Hold yourself accountable, exercise humility, self-compassion, and self love, and make changes for the better. Although, nothing was resolved with my name being changed and corrected in the *** system, Im no longer upset with you. Youre fallible just like the rest of us.

Know better and do better, ****. Just take a step back and breathe. We all make mistakes. Youre not the only one.
