On August 3rd, 2021 I was driving from ************* Michigan to home. I was planning on staying in a hotel one night as I can't drive straight through. When I got close to ********** I started looking for a room. There were none, all the hotels seemed to be full, so I tried booking online. I called ************* and they made me a reservation at the Comfort Inn ( confirmation # ********* ). When I got to the hotel the front desk clerk said that they didn't have any rooms, so I showed her my confirmation #, she got on their computer and looked up the confirmation #. She said the reservation was for Sept. 3rd (********) I left, tired and angry. I ended up driving the rest of the way home, it was a nightmare. When I got home and looked at my bank account there were 2 charges from the Comfort Inn, one was $278.88 for the 3rd of August, the other was $170.34 for Sept. 3rd.I tried to resolve the issue with Comfort Inn & *************, but got nothing but a big run around from both parties.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

They billed me $278.88 for 08/06/2021 when they didn't have a room available and yes they said that the reservation was for Sept. 3rd 2021, possible my misunderstanding, but how do they get away with charging me for August 3rd, when they turned me away. After my conversations with them there was no way I was going to go there on Sept. 3rd and it was the manager who was rude to me. Choice hotels response was absolutely unacceptable. they gave me the run around for hours and then said that I had booked this through Booking.com. I may not have been real nice in some of the conversations, but who would be after all the ****.
