On or about the 15th of June, 2025, I became a potential client to Rightway Automotive Group. It is important to note that I reside over 40 miles from their closest retail location. Over the duration of approximately one week, I was in direct contact with assigned sales representatives and a Sales Manager. The communication process included but was not limited to email correspondence, telephone conversations, and several text messages. Initially my intention was to provide enough financial information to secure an auto loan for a newer car. They provoked me in to setting up a test drive without the completion of financing. Their advertising clearly states and implies that regardless of one's credit worthyness that a deal for the purchase of a car is not only realistic but very likely. My experience at their ************* location was exactly the opposite and was treated like a lower class citizen. I was humiliated with his review of my credit history and another's condescending advice as to the path I should follow to find the necessary dicipline to pay down the debt. I took immediate offense to his attitude and abruptly exited the premises. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE. They are obviously poor business people as is noted by the numerous complaints tallied by the BBB over the past two years.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
Mr. ******** came to our Traverse City location seeking a vehicle and assistance with financing. He scheduled an appointment in advance and arrived as planned. During his visit, he completed a credit application, which is a standard and necessary step in securing financing.
After reviewing his application. Based on the results and his trade-in situation, he was conditionally approved for financing; however, Mr. ******** was not happy with the amount of down payment required.
At no point was Mr. ******** denied financing, nor was he refused assistance. We discussed the steps he could take to proceed, and he took time in his vehicle following that conversation. He ultimately left the dealership voluntarily without finalizing a transaction.
Sincerely,
***** ********

On March ******* I leased a car from Right Way Auto Sales and paid a deposit of ***** dollars I test drove the car with **** ***** and I told him multiple times that something was wrong with the car. I then had him test drive it with me in the car and he stated thats how the car was that nothing was wrong with it. I called the bank I got the car leased with they told me take the car to another car shop to get it diagnosed and I told Right Way Like ***** that it was the differential in the car and that I had to pay over $200 for them to drain the oil because it was black underneath the plate in the car. I took the receipt to right way and they checked the car out saying nothing was wrong. I then called and stated thats the breaks sounded extremely bad I took the car in the day before Memorial Day of 2025 they stated it was indeed the differential that needed to be fixed. They waited for the part here it is a month later I still have no car I have not had this car for ************************************************************************** and my children. They are now trying to make me pay 100 to get my car when I just got the car and there shouldnt be any issues wrong with the car at all when I told them what the issue was but they kept saying nothing was wrong.Customer Answer

To Whom It May Concern,
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to ******************** concerns and to clarify the timeline and scope of service related to the vehicle she purchased from our *********, IN location.
Ms. ****** purchased her vehicle from RightWay Auto Sales on March 17, 2025. As with every vehicle sold by RightWay, it was safety inspected by a repair facility prior to being made available for sale. Ms. ****** was also provided a 6-month/6,000-mile limited powertrain warranty at no cost.
On May 27, 2025, Ms. ****** returned to our service partner,********************, with a concern about a front-end noise. After diagnosis,******* determined that the vehicle required a replacement of the front transfer case. This repair was fully covered under her included warranty. The part was ordered, received, and installed.
During this process, the shop also found that the vehicles flex pipe and resonator required replacement. While these items were not covered by the warranty, both were replaced at no charge to Ms. ****** as a goodwill gesture. On June 16, 2025, the repairs were completed and the vehicle was returned to her after she paid the $100 deductible per the warranty agreement.
Shortly after taking the vehicle back, Ms. ****** reported that the noise issue persisted. ******* re-evaluated the vehicle and diagnosed the replacement transfer case as faulty. A warranty claim was initiated with the part supplier, ******, who is in the process of sending a replacement unit.Once received, ******* will install the new part as a priority case at no additional cost to Ms. ****** including no second deductible.
We understand Ms. ******* frustration and sincerely regret the inconvenience. That said, all repairs have been addressed within warranty terms, and additional components have been repaired outside of warranty at no cost to her. We remain committed to resolving the issue fully and promptly once the new part arrives.
Sincerely,
**** *******

December 17th, 2024 I purchased a vehicle from Right Way Auto Elkhart *******. For this purchase, ************** agreed to pay off my previous car balance in which I have the car in my possession. The vehicle (2013 Dodge Dart) was not traded in. I have called on multiple occasions requesting my title for the 2013 Dodge Dart, I have been promised call after call with no response regarding my title. I have tried requesting a replacement title with no luck.Business Response

To Whom It May Concern,
Ms. ****** ********* purchased a vehicle from our *******, ******* location on December 17, 2024. As part of the transaction, she traded in one vehicle, and we also agreed to pay off the remaining balance on her 2013 Dodge Dart, which she retained in her possession as part of the financing arrangement. This structure was fully disclosed and agreed upon in writing at the time of purchase.
We acknowledge that an error occurred in the processing of the Dodge Darts title. The title was mistakenly transferred as if the vehicle had been traded in. Once this issue was brought to our attention, our team contacted Ms. ********* directly and began working with her to resolve the error. We are currently working with the state title agency to correct the paperwork and ensure that Ms. ********* receives a clean and properly assigned title to the vehicle.
We sincerely apologize for the delay and any frustration this may have caused. Our goal is always to provide a smooth and transparent purchase experience, and we appreciate Ms. *********** patience as we correct this issue.
Should she have any further questions or need direct assistance, Ms. ********* is encouraged to contact our office or her original salesperson at the Elkhart location. We are committed to resolving this matter to her satisfaction.
Sincerely,

So I am reaching out because I am in desperate need of help. I am very upset. Ive been fighting with this company for over ********** now just trying to reach resolution so basically what had happened was my fianc and his ex had went in and got a car, they not made aware of it being in a car accident to the point that airbags have went off, and it had dropped the market value by a great deal, but they were not made aware of that then some things had happened with his ex **** had come into a lot of money from My Mom being murdered. When I was 15 years old and I was being nice and thought I would try to help out and purchase the car from them bypaying it off so I paid $19,000 to pay this vehicle off just to try to trade it in a month later and get told that only worth four Grand because of the car accident had been in. I had took it into multiple different car dealerships. They all said the same thing so I was completely rippedoff on this vehicle and Ive tried to reach out to make this right with the company, I just want some kind of compensation back. I want a lot of money. I just want a little bit of my money back because Im paying for school. Im paying for a wedding and I use that moneythinking that I was gonna be able to trade in the vehicle for equal value or even just a little bit less value but not $4000. I need this made right or I will have to take legal I dont want to do that, but they are giving me no choice because they will not communicate with me.Business Response

*** ****** did not purchase this vehicle from RightWay, but we are aware of her complaint. Due to the fact she is not our customer we ****** share personal details of the transaction. It is our understanding that *** ****** paid off one of our customers vehicles who she has a relationship with and then sold that vehicle to another dealership. After doing that she called our dealership upset about what the other dealership paid her for the vehicle. We offered to pay her fair market value for the vehicle and she explained she had already sold it to the other dealership for a below market value. Our response to her at that time was:
"We're sorry for your loss and the situation you're in, unfortunately with no vehicle there is nothing we can do. Sounds like the dealer that took your car as trade, may have taken advantage of you, maybe there's something they would be able to do for you"
That response was in November 2024 and we haven't heard from her since then. At this point there is nothing we can do to assist *** ******.

I am rejecting this response because: the only reason I contacted was because I paid the money if he needs to file a complaint he is willing to but Im not asking for a lot back just a couple thousand because we have all the proof that yall didnt tell them that it was in an accident Ive looked at all the papers and so has the lawyers legit paid yall off so we could trade it in I paid 19k and Im not asking that full amount back just partial of that money back and the reason I traded it in was because when I contacted on ******** I was blocked I tried calling and messaging many times so finally I traded it in but I went to 4 dealerships and all said the same thing I dont need you to share info because I have the info Im just trying to get a partial refund thats it and Ill leave the situation be but that money was from my mom being MURDERED and yall are taking advantage of the whole situation please I am begging yall to just make it right Ill walk away with a 5 k refund thats leaves yall a 14k profit not including what he had already paid on it

I was taken advantage of, they did not go over my interest rate, did not give me all of my paperwork. They told me my monthly payment was 750, but actually it is 772 a month. ****** the financial person gets rude with me when I try telling him about returning the car because that is what the credit union tells me I can do. They deny me that and tells me it will hurt my credit. They did not go over everything with me, they just explained the paperwork in a totally different way as I signed it. When I had asked for the credit union information they denied me it. Told me that they just cant hand out phone numbers. Only have 1 page out of 11 about secured interest rate and 1 page out 23 about the choice one agreement number information.Initial Complaint

Vehicle was purchased in late September of 2024, come early November it began having overheating problems, turbo problems, oil and coolant leaks. Has been taken to the "warranty covered" auto shop Midas at ***************************************. It has been back to that shop multiple times for the same issues and is still having problems. I have tried to contact Rightway to remedy the situation and have been met with rude responses and "Take it back to the shop". I have gone weeks without a vehicle, missed work and have had to pay for extras outside of the warranty. At this point I would like out of it but afraid of it hitting my credit as bad. I had also taken my vehicle to a local shop to get checked out after the problem first occurred and they were very worried about the state in while the vehicle was in upon purchase. Even stated "I would return this if possible." Rightway does not seem to care about what they are selling, as many reviews on their page are pretty bad, but also make you write a review of them before you even leave with the car. This dealership is very deceitful and money hungry. I would like all that I have paid into this plus more for time wasted, and unnecessary mileage put on the vehicles for driving it to and from the auto shop as well as the purchase price as I would have loved to be able to own this car in proper conditions.Customer Answer

RightWay Auto Sales takes customer satisfaction very seriously. That is why we have every vehicle safety inspected by a repair facility prior to making it available for sale. Its also why we provide every customer with an independent 6 month or ********** warranty at no cost to the customer. We also offer **************** Contracts for purchase which Ms. ******** elected to purchase ****** miles or 24 months of extended coverage. Ms.******** was also given ample time to test drive and inspect the vehicle prior to purchase.
Unfortunately, theres no way of telling what may break down on a vehicle over time, but you can tell from the measures above we make every effort to deliver the best product possible. Ms. ******** has had a few issues that were covered by her service contract where she only had to pay $100 for the deductible. The service contract also provides rental coverage during covered repairs.
We do ask our customers for a review at the time of sale, but we do not force anyone to make a review. The majority of our reviews are positive, but yes over the thousands of vehicles we have sold at the ********* location we do have some negative reviews.
Weve reached out to Ms. ******** to get her car to one of our trusted shops to have it diagnosed and see whats going on. We will also assist her with a vehicle to drive while her vehicle is being looked at.
Sincerely,

I bought a 2015 ***** encore from Rightway auto in April 20 24 and ever since then I havent had nothing but problems the first time mycar overheated. I took it to their shop that is covered by their warranty and they did pay however I continue to have problems and took back three times for the same problem with the Shop continued to tell me there was nothing wrong with my car until the heat went out then Ihad to get that fixed in October Prior to that I was having a jerking to my car and when I took it to their preferred shop again they said nothing was wrong with The jerking got worse till this week where I was able to get it back in and now theyre saying its costing over $4000 to fix And the reason I have these rear problems with my car is because the car was sold to me with non-matching tires which caused allthe damage that it is experiencing now the car is not safe to drive. I have reached out to right way they keep saying theyre gonna call me back, no one is getting back to me right way clients to have an inspection policy for all their cars if that was the case why was that car soldto me with no matching tires by my car not having the right tires auto truck and Fleet told me that it caused my rear differential intro to brake as well as my shocks and coil springs in the back of my car and my tire rods, inner and outer, which quoted me over $4000 I am asking for my down payment back as well as my money for my trade-in and to be let out of my lease, I have gave them plenty of chances to make this right, but no one will talk to me and I have been experiencing problems from day one for a shop that they told me to go to thats under warranty that keeps telling me nothing is wrong now theyre telling me somethings wrong but its costing over $4000. Thats not right they need to make this right because they shouldnt of sold me that car in the first place without inspecting it and having the right tires on there, none of this wouldve happenedCustomer Answer

Have received 2 vehicles from rightway within the last 10 months and both vehicles have had transmission issues and now engine issues. First vehicle received, transmission blew out within first 2 months. They gave me another vehicle. This vehicle ran for about 2 months then needed spark plugs, battery and coil. Ran OK for a couple mouths and started to overheat and run bad again. It then needed transmission installed. Immediately after transmission was installed and received vehicle back. I had to call , head gasket was blown and now it needs new engine that warranty wont cover. But why wasnt engine looked at when they just had my vehicle. Now Im out of a vehicle again and warranty isnt trying to cover repair cost. I keep paying a note that I barely have a car for. Its been at warranty place half of the time Ive had the car. Would either like replacement vehicle or warranty covered also. Rightway said I had 2 year warranty if anything happened to car to bring it back. **************** says my warranty expired as well. But only have had 2nd car for 9-10 months.Customer Answer

After driving the vehicle over ****** miles we are willing to assist Mr. ****** with getting the shop to do the repair at our preferred pricing but don't feel it's fair for Rightway to pay for the repair that is over his service contracts mileage and likely due to the vehicle being driven while overheated.

We can't discuss any details of Ms. ********* deal because ***** is not on the loan.
We are aware of her mothers deal and the family came in on 12/14/2024 looking to trade in the vehicle she purchased on April 4th 2024. Every circumstance is different but unfortunately we could not come up with an acceptable deal for the family.
Ms. ******* purchased her vehicle as part of an Arms-length transaction where she reviewed and agreed to all the terms in writing. It's also important to note that she was given ample time to test drive and have the vehicle inspected prior to purchase. Ms. ******* was also provided an Autocheck vehicle history report at delivery that showed no accidents.
We discussed Ms. ********* options regarding trading in her vehicle on 12/14/2024, please have her reach out if she has further questions.

I purchased a vehichle from Right Way in February of 2024 and traded in my old car with them. I paid $3500 all together with the down payment and the trade in value. I was said my monthly payments would be $566 a month. Within a month of having this vehichle my re end axhaust went out as well as my right front axel, it was taken to **** aotupshop with rightway in elkhart . I didnt have to pay anything with the warranty. About 3 months after that my differential system failed and went out causing the car to be in the shop for up to two weeks without rental. Recently I have been having major issues so I reached out to my finace company and they gave me a dealership warranty that I was not told about until then which is not okay. The vehichle has been in the shop now for over two weeks waiting for warranty to approve everything. BUT once I recived the diagnosis paperwork it is well over $4,000 worth or work needing to be done and I am extremly angry with being sold a lemon car that has contunied to fall apart . I have not heard back from the shop about the warranty coverage yet. I am paying way to much money a mony $566 . I can barely afford the payments along with the up keep of the damages of this vehichle. Im a single mom working a full time job and I have told my finance company I will not pay a dime to them unless all of the damages are fixed or I recieve a new vehichle or even a refund from all the payments . I have paper work from all the shops that I have gone to to fix with my own money along with the documentation of the recent diagnosis which is ridicilous. I have Paid at lease $7,000 with the payments and out of pocket for parts for fixing the vehichle. I am looking for help with this matter or a better solution for myself. I have proof of everything from the day I have bought the car till now . Please help!!!Customer Answer
