I hired ********** to help me find a coordinating countertop for one counter in my kitchen that needed replacing. She took me to ******** in ************ where we found a quartzite that would work. ****** (owner of SKP) specifically ask someone there if the slab of quartzite I picked out was prone to any staining and she was told "No." I told to ****** to go ahead. She notified ********** and coordinated the installation with her contacts at Central Tile and Terrazzo. I was billed $3,500.00 by Central Tile and called with a credit card. Installation I was 11/17/22. Upon installation the installer set a bottle on the counter and when he removed it there was a ring stain left. I took pictures and sent the to ****** immediately. She called Central Tile and **********. Installer told he had problems with the same quartzite at another installation. The initial stain dissipated, ***** from Central Tile came back the following week and put another sealer on the counter. Then numerous other stains began appearing (photos attached). ****** assured me she would work with both Central Tile and ********** to resolve and rectify the problem. ***** came back again on Jan. 12, 2023 and then applied a new stain remover that was "going to solve the problem then they would reseal it again." He came back the next day, the remover hadn't dried. I had to wait another day but it made the problem worse! They wanted to do the same process again. I called ****** at Central Tile directly and was told that doing the process again would not work and she believed the quartzite was the problem and initially said they would stand by their sale. After no response I emailed and got the reply that they would only refund their installation costs of $1000. I asked to talk to the owner ***** who never responded to my requests. ****** has evidently removed herself as I have not heard from her in a week. I have since purchased a new counter that will be replacing the defective counter.
