The fact that I have to issue one star to get my point across on this board is almost as frustrating as this company's service basis. I was referred to this company to have my generator service which was 2 years old at the time when they came out to service my unit they insisted that they had to be moved etc... Ever since they have moved my unit they never could get it restarted and have cashed my check for the service rendered and have refused to fix a perfectly fine running generac prior to their appointment. I have since checked with two other generac companies as well as the building official for my local Township and my generac should have never been moved After several attempts I decided that I could at least leave this review to warn any consumer in the future about this company that I cannot find enough superlatives to express my how dissatisfied I am with this scam of a company that cashes your check and never completes your work or renders the service that they were hired for as they do not return phone calls as they have been notified at least a half a dozen times over the course of two years now that my generator has not worked since the day that they have put their hands on it. I as a business owner of myself and absolutely in disgust with this company and highly recommend to any consumer in the future to consider this reviewGenerators Plus Company Response

We were called out to service the generator. When we arrived, we found that the generator was not installed per the manufacturer's instructions or per state or national codes. The generator is required to be a minimum of 5' from windows or openings. The generator was installed less than 5' from windows and doors. The generator was installed less than 5' from the dryer vent. The generator is required to be installed a minimum of 18" from the house it was not. The generator is required to have a minimum of 36" clearance on the front and both ends. The original location did not have 36" clearance from the exhaust end. The generator is also required to be a minimum of 36" from the meter can. The generator was installed less than 36". The automatic transfer switch is required to have a main breaker. The original transfer switch did not have a main breaker. We brought all items up to code. We will be happy to return and solve the problem. I cannot speak to the fact that other contractors or the building official was called.Review from MR. A

My wife contacted this company the morning of August 14, 2021 after our Generac standby generator stopped working after several days of power outage. The display on the generator showed that it stopped due to low oil pressure with a specific code. This information was given to the company at the time we called over the phone. They advised that a service tech would be out sometime that day, never providing any information about prices or services they were (or were not) able to complete. Prior to the service tech arriving, I realized that the generator was just out of oil, added some, and corrected the issue. When the tech arrived (only at our home for several minutes), we explained the issue and asked that he still complete a full maintenance (oil change, filter, spark plugs, etc). The tech advised that he DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT, and didn't even have any of that equipment with him only bringing oil. We asked what the cost was, understanding that he still came out to the home and we expected to pay for that as we wanted him to confirm there was no other issues with the generator. The tech would not tell us a price, did not perform any inspection or maintenance on the generator, and only would say that an invoice would be emailed. The tech did not complete any services, and left irritated that we had realized it only needed oil. Later that same day, an invoice was received for a total of $140 dollars and indicated that it was for generator service (of which was never provided). We responded with an email back to the company immediately asking for a phone call, as when we tried calling their phone it only rang never receiving an answer. The company contacted us back via telephone on 8-16-21 and was extremely rude, stating that we had to pay the invoice or they would send us to collections. The phone call was partly with a "*****" and then with a "*******". Both refused to put us in contact with the owner, and ended calling us a "*****" and hanging up. A new invoice was eventually received indicating $0 dollars, however this company is very unprofessional and I believe price gouges during natural disasters such as we faced (large scale power outage after storm). In addition, they attempt to intimidate and threaten in order to gain payment for services not provided by stating they will send you to collections. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Generators Plus Company Response

1. This was during an extensive power outage. We were only doing work if the generator was not running and the person did not have power from the utility company. That is the reason the tech did not have time for full maintenance and did not have material on the van to do the full maintenance.
2. If the generator is running and producing electricity there is nothing else to check.
3. The customer could have called the office and told us his generator was back up and working properly. We could have scheduled a maintenance after the power was restored.
4. We were in the office all day on the 14th. If no one answered we may have been on the other line. The call should have went to the answering machine. I don't know why it did not go to the answering machine.
5. ***** and ******* did not put them through to the owner because I was out helping with service calls.
6. Our standard service call is $140.00 for the first hour or any part there of. This $140.00 includes the time it takes us to travel to the job site. This is not price gouging.
7. If any of our employees were rude I apologize for that. We worked a lot of hours, some of our techs were out until 1:00 am and were back at the shop by 8:00 am the next morning ready to do it again. This occurred for multiple days. We were all tired from the excessive hours.
