The television show *** ***** will be filming in the *****************, and this organization is sending out text messages offering individuals opportunities to audition for roles for the show, as well as opportunities to audition for various roles in the next edition of "The Hunger Games." The auditions are offered as a group, and they are via Zoom. No more information is given before the event. The only way I happened to find out any information was that I googled the company and found out that they are and have been a complete scam to many individuals by asking them for money for an "opportunity" for a "potential" chance to interview, and there is no guarantee to audition for the actual original promised bait and switch in the first place. This is completely wrong and unjust, and this organization should be shut down.

Thank you for your feedback. Nine9 has been in business 20+ years and is accredited with the BBB, whom does not offer accreditation to businesses that are not legitimate. The virtual open calls we have are designed to provide talent with information about all of our services, not specifically one casting. This way talent can get a clear understanding of what we offer and what is included in their purchase, and decide if the services are right for them. There is never a guarantee to audition as the decision to request you for an audition or book is the casting directors discretion. Our services provide you with casting opportunities and training courses, which is all thoroughly explained verbally during the virtual call talent attend and in written form on the sign up sheet. Per your request your application has been removed and you will not be contacted any further. We wish you the best in your entertainment endeavors.

Nine9 ************** advertises Open Casting Call does not however disclose the fact there will be a 90 dollar processing fee followed by *********************************************************************************************** the fact they are charging said fees. I am upset they did not disclose in any of their ADS, text messages or emails that such a fee would be due at the end of their near hour long open casting callI dont believe this business is necessarily a scam But i do not think it is a good business practice to not disclose there will be money due before any actually open casting callI didnt waste any money but did lose some valuable time.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:

No offer to stop their predatory business tactics was made.

Offering open casting calls without the mention of a fee, then having you sit through an hour long presentation to hype you up and make you feel special and that you are only here because you fit the mold

To then have the rug pulled out from under you, that Oh wait CREAM! Cash rules everything around me!

Like its excuse my language its ******.

i would not have wasted an hour of my time listening to someone try to sell me on the Industry

i was there to see if i could be an extra in a movie maybe earn a couple bucks. Like what was advertised!!!

      then a friggen pay wall

Its wrong to not advertise you charge for you Open Casting Calls

i will be leaving this complaint open until you actually advertise your services properly

      Regards,

I was contacted by a company identifying itself as *****, claiming they were seeking talent to fill roles. Based on this representation, I agreed to participate in a Zoom meeting under the impression that it would involve legitimate casting opportunities.Instead, the call lasted approximately 50 minutes and turned out to be a high-pressure sales presentation. Participants were ultimately told that in order to be considered for auditions or casting opportunities, they would need to pay a substantial fee information that was never disclosed upfront. This creates a deceptive and misleading experience, designed to gain trust and extract payment under false ************ addition, during the process, the company collected personal information from me, including Name, address, email, and number . I was not made fully aware of how this information would be used or stored, nor did I consent to it being shared with third parties. This adds to my concern regarding the companys integrity and data privacy practices.I believe these actions are not only unethical, but may also violate consumer protection laws and fair advertising standards.

Thank you for reaching out. The virtual open call that talent are invited to attend is an informative call that goes over not only castings but our services in their entirety. This way there is full transparency on what we offer for interested talent, should they decide to move forward with our services. I apologize that you feel the call was deceptive or misleading as that is not our intention for interested talent.

Regarding personal information, we only provide contact information to clients or castings directors when you are requested or being considered for a project and only after confirming directly with the talent in question for each instance. Your application has been completely removed from our database, so there is no way for us to reach out to you further for our services. Again I apologize that the experience was not what you were looking for. We wish you the best.

Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience with us. We reach out to talent via text after receiving an application that is typically filled out on social media. I don't show we received a response from the texts sent that you were not interested in services, which is why you received multiple texts to see if you were interested in attending a virtual open call. I've removed all of your information from our system so you will not receive any unwanted communication any further. Thank you.

Attempted a transaction today. Ive read many online reviews of the company and many are claiming it is a scam. I did not give payment information because there is no way a legit talent agency refuses to take commissions and instead opts for a subscription service from their talent. It seems suspicious to say the least and a lot of people are claiming that its impossibly sketchy. Not to mention the fact their ads are on social media websites and they have a no refund policy. To me I feel like this is grounds for a formal investigation into the establishment to save people both time, money, and hopes.

Thank you for providing feedback regarding your virtual call you attended on 4/15 with *******. During the call our office directors outline how our services differ from an agency, notating we do not take commission off of what you make and provide training classes in addition to casting services for the fee paid. We understand this can be confusing as agencies and talent services differ. You can view testimonials on our website from talent that have decided to enroll with us and have found success with our services. Per your request I have removed your contact information and application so you will not be contacted again. If you are ever curious in giving our services a chance and formulating your own opinion, please reach out to me directly at ********************************** Thank you.

Very grateful for my experience in the entertainment industry and being very familiar with liars, thieves and scammers. There is no way anyone could be searching for any talent of mine and I must pay an upfront fee along with a recurring charge, immediate RED FLAG. Once confirmed with the young lady whom uses her bust up to her chin as bate, rather or not this information was accurate, she responded very rudely and unprofessional with I said that on the zoom meeting lol, RED FLAG NUMBER TWO. A scammer will ALSO show aggression when being challenged. I said thanks, and made my grand exit making me one less victim . However, Be careful everyone. Reading and understanding is fundamental.

Thanks for attending the virtual call with ******* today at at 11am EST. You are correct agencies do not charge a fee. Nine9 is not an agency, we offer a subscription service designed to help models and actors with not just submission opportunities but also training classes that are all included in the fee paid. My apologies you felt the representative confirming the information you inquired about via the Q&A section that was already discussed verbally was rude or unprofessional. Information related to our services is discussed both verbally and in written form so there is no confusion as to what we offer and what talent will receive. Our services are primarily for newer talent, so this wouldn't benefit someone such as yourself with prior experience. Thanks again for your input as it is always helpful for our management team to hear about experiences, positive or negative. We wish you the best in your endeavors.

I attended a webinar where a talent agent (*******) states they will be casting us (those in the webinar) starting today for roles in major productions. By the end of the webinar it came up that you need to join and onboard with them in order for that to happen. (Why I didnt see that as a major red flag - is beyond me). I onboarded and put my credit information in - the page I was on said it would be ***** a month or something close like that - when I saw my charges and receipt it said ***** paid and that my monthly bill will start on March 13 for the monthly charge. Although confused to that charge, I went onto my email (like the webinar said to) to get my ID and password to sign into my personal account that ********************** says they created just for me and start to enter the info that ******* (the talent person) said I needed to enter in order to start the casting process for either stranger things - final season, ***** ***** movie, ******* scream 7, or a new ******* series. Wellthats not the case at all. None of those listings were anywhere to be found or even close. This was basically just a scam to get people to pay the ***** and to continue on thinking that they are going to be casted for jobs. When I questioned someone they just sent me to another person. ***** on this company. I have requested my money back as they do NOT provide the services they say they do in these scaminars. Shame shame shame to do this to people.

I do see you spoke with **** referencing your desire to cancel and be refunded. I show the refund of $99 was processed and should post to your financial account within 1-3 business days.
