I took my 2011 **** ***** ******** ****** to Hometown for a Check Engine Light. I drove my jeep into the dealership, but wasn't able to drive it away after they changed the engine with a used engine. I paid 1187.50 on 8/31/21 to have Hometown tear the engine down and do a diagnostic test to see what was wrong with my Jeep. I did not get my jeep back until 11/5/21. My insurance ***** **** paid Hometown 5253.85 to replace the engine in the jeep. I had to buy another Vehicle in the meantime to get to work and rent a vehicle twice. I took my jeep to another shop after Hometown replaced the engine and I had to put it on a trailer, because i wasn't able to drive it after they replaced the engine. The new repair shop that i took it to did a diagnostic test and found missing bolts, clamp not positioned correctly on hose, no antifreeze in the radiator, due to a hole Hometown punched in it. Check engine light is still on and Hometown never cleared the original codes from when it went into the shop. Front tire was flat when i picked up the vehicle. I have pictures of the damage Hometown did to my vehicle and the messed up work they performed on my jeep. I had to buy another vehicle to get to work with, because they had my jeep for 3 to 4 months replacing the engine and it still is not able to be drove. I should of been able to drive my jeep off the lot at Hometown. They changed what was wrong with my jeep from the original diagnosis they gave me in the beginning. They voided the warranty on my engine they replaced, because of the whole that they put in the radiator. I feel they did poor work and tried to take advantage of me because I am a women. I don't want other women to be treated this way by any business or anyone in that fact. I am currently still working with my insurance to try and get the Jeep fixed properly. I made payments on this jeep and carried full coverage on it while it was in the shop for 3 to 4 months.Business response

Good afternoon Stacy, I don't know what her complaint was. Her insurance carrier agreed to pay for a used engine, they supplied the engine, but would not pay for anything else. The had broken pulleys and many other issues that she didn't want to pay for. Consequently, we installed the engine but could start it until the other problems were repaired. She said that a friend could fix the rest and she towed it out.
She communicated to our service department that she was going to return it to the Bank where it was financed. There insurance company would not authorize any other repairs or parts, other than the motor. She would not spend any money on the repair .
