      On November 15 2021, I called Octagon Cleaning and Restoration to remove standing water from part of our basement. They came promptly, sucked the water up, and left a dehumidifier in place. (see the emails below). On January 11, they sent a bill for $750, DUE January 11 2022, that gave no explanation or details about the services rendered. I followed up with two emails and a phone call asking for an itemized bill, given the minimal services rendered. They only sent the "overdue" invoice stating their "minimum" AFTER we and our insurance company declined further services (see emails below). My emails have received no response. When I spoke to someone on the phone, she said that was a minimum charge that she had no control over. My concern is 1) nowhere either verbally or on their website did they announce a $750 minimum regardless of services rendered. 2) the claim that payment was "overdue" 3) we believe the bill is excessive given the services rendered. 4) The invoice is not itemized 5) the services suggested in their estimate (see email) were NOT warranted according to our insurance agent's water leak investigation company. We declined those services. ONLY then were we informed of this minimum and that bill was sent with the implication that it was overdue. We are asking that they adjust the bill to more reasonably reflect the services actually rendered and that they no longer conceal the fact that they charge such a high minimum. I am uploading the following documents: Octagon's bill (please note date) My emailed responses Original Octagon "analysis" Report from American Leak Detection (service engaged by our insurance company) My husband and I believe that not only have we been treated unfairly, but the company has not responded to our questions except verbally on the phone, and there are indications that some of their practices may be fraudulent (see the report commissioned by our insurer below) We are hoping BBB can intervene.
