  I wrote a check to a shady contractor who took my check and then never showed up to do any work. So I canceled the check and texted the worker to say that the job is cancelled. Days later, I get a call from this check cashing place to say that I am liable. I canceled the check for a reason. *** never seen that person again and no work was ever done. Yet this Republicash is calling me every day and sending threatening letters to my home. This ***** had to have given them his phone and address but instead of going after the thief, they come after me

  When a check is issued it is a guarantee of payment. The purpose of a stop payment is not to negotiate whether payment should be made but to replace a lost or damaged check. Once the check has been issued payment has been guaranteed to the payee. A person who issues a check would have to resolve the issue with the payee if services were not provided as agreed upon.
  
  When RepubliCash cashes a check for a customer we are considered a "holder in due course" and we are protected by the ***** Uniform Commercial Code. Any dispute between the issuer of the check and the payee of the check would be a civil issue between them. Please refer to the ***** Legislature in regards to holder in due course:

  I haven't used republiccash since may 4th of this year they took my repayment. When I was at ************ office they took $25 cash from me. Then June 23rd they took the same $25.00 so I called to verify why and they said it was for the $25.00 fee that I had already paid. They said I was all set now. Now today 7/6/2023 they charged me the SAME $25.00 once again claiming the bank took it back but there is no record of that going back I to my account. Just the original withdrawal.

  At this time your account with us is paid in full and no additional funds have been collected. Below is a timeline of events to help you review your bank records:

  Payday loan was taken out in the amount of $100 with a finance fee of $13, due on 4/27/23

  5/1/23 - We received notification that the loan payment in the amount of $113 returned to us NSF. A return fee of $25 is assessed for the return.

  5/1/23 - We attempted to call the customer but could not leave a message because vm box was full. A new ach payment was set up for the customer's next pay date of 5/4/23

  5/9/23 - We received confirmation that the payment of $113 was collected and the loan balance was paid.

  6/22/23 - A new ach payment was set up to the collect the outstanding return fee, in the amount of $25 for 6/23/23

  6/26/23 - We received notification the payment returned to us NSF

  6/29/23 - A new ach payment was set up to the collect the outstanding return fee, in the amount of $25 for 7/6/23

  7/11/23 - We received confirmation that the payment was collected and customers balance is now paid in full.

  If you believe any additional funds were successfully collected from your bank account, we will gladly review your bank statement. Please send your bank statement directly to me at *********************************** or stop into any of our branches. Upon review, if we find our records to be in error, we will promptly reimburse any additional funds. At this time our records do not show show any additional funds collected.
