The work was top-notch, but their internal and customer-facing communication is weak. 90% of the job was as expected, but the last two items (shower doors) were installed without us approving the particular door. The owner will say they were approved, but that's not the case. One door we never saw pictures of at all, and for the other we got two cellphone pics of a computer screen saying "this is what we typically install." A month later that ultra-modern looking door was on the wall in my old farmhouse. Complaints on my part were met with threats and bullying until I paid the full balance. I finally decided it was worth missing out on the shower door to get rid of the guy. In the process of the job, I got emails from one person in the company about things that had already been decided by someone else, so it was obvious that the internal communication was weak as well. Glad I can be rid of this company. Too bad because the people they hired to do the actual work at the house were wonderful.I'm sure any response will say that I approved the installation, and it will say that the doors were a custom order and very expensive and so on, but fact is that there was never any communication with decent pictures saying this is what will be installed. The owner made a mistake and won't admit it because it would cost him money. There wasn't even any attempt to make things right aside from removing one of the never-approved doors.There will be some ************** here, but we did not approve either shower door, and never even saw pictures of one of them before it was installed.

All I can say is Wow! ***** your corner of your home was rotted out because your previous contractor put screws through the shower base membrane. This cause significant water damage mold and rot. You would have paid out of pocket for that if I had not told you to contact your insurance company whom paid in full. Your Welcome. You were unhappy that your 2014 addition on your home did not look like 1800s. That's impossible. It was built in ******************************************* addition to that ***** turns out you didn't even own the home. An elderly gentleman owns the home. You should have told us you wanted it to be exactly as before so he would not notice. Shame on you. The work is amazing and if i could post pictures here I would show everyone. In addition ***** you told me the shower doors were alright knowing that size was not available without custom doors at a significantly higher costs. I don't know what to say other then we appreciate your business.

Our camp had a rotting deck with rot spread up into the sill. They gave us a fair bid and even offered a free upgrade from wood planks to synthetic deck planks since they had enough left over in their inventory. The work was done promptly and looks great. I plan on getting them to bid on a job for my father-in-law's house this spring.As I was reading the negative reviews here, I wondered if this business owner's no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point style of talking might put off some customers who expect contractors to agree with anything the client says without pointing out potential problems.Review from Lorrie D

We needed an addition jacked. He came out and gave us two estimates, one temporary and one ridiculously high (tens of thousands) We decided on the lesser of the two which was still over two thousand. Said he'd re level the door etc. The day prior he said he was going to just make it safe for the winter. One person showed up and jacked the sunroom, used a lot of our blocks to hold in place and was gone in less than two hours. I questioned the cost and wanted a breakdown. He added adjusting the door and delivery. I sent a snapshot that ********** doesn't charge for delivery and said the door didn't need to be done. We used to renovate properties so we aren't clueless as to work entailed and cost. I had to threaten to call the attorney general to examine fraudulent business practices. Client was provided a bid. That amount was determined by material costs. transportation time, office time, and labor to repair an addition that was pulling away from home. It was ready to fall off the house. (Contractors in the past they say but the addition was not properly supported.) They were charged the bid amount as we contracted with them per state law. Yes, the door was adjusted when we jacked and leveled the structure. If she had come out when my ********* wanted to review with her she would know this. The danger factor of jacking structure alone exceeds what we charged them. Yes, every single person that orders product for delivery from ********** is charged delivery cost, unless they pick up at the store. Especially on a island property that is way out on the island. The client feels that driving 2.5 hours one way, fuel, wear and tear on vehicle, transportation time, quote time, office work, expertise is all free. The cement blocks that were used were delivered to site along with the support posts. If she came outside her home, she would realize this. They didn't even pay the full price of the bid either we discounted it because they put up a big stink even after agreeing to contract. Another thing that bothers me a lot is the lady complaining couldn't be bothered to come out when i was at the property providing the quote. She couldn't be bothered to come out and review the work completed with my ********* before he left after 4.5 hours on site. Then she lies about it.
We are considering legal action.

Like all contacting work and high expense, it is nerve wracking to get projects started. This company makes it ************ quick responds and answers all questions, and suggestions. Also, being 'BBB' accredited and a good track record helps with accountability, not a ********** ****** looking for work. I would totally hire these guys again. This company is a fraud. At first ***** will be great to deal with. He is a good talker and has an answer to all your questions. Once the job starts he disappears and the only way of communicating is through email. ***** does not follow through with anything that he tells you before the job is started. His work crew were nice guys but from the first day the work was terrible. I had to fire them after 6 days on the job. The shower is not level the shower pan is creaking and cracking every time we step in it. There is caulking all over the shower walls. ***** had his team get supplies at ********** while driving a Prius so they had to have the Sheetrock and plywood cut down small enough to fit in this car , while ***** has delivery van sitting in his driveway. The Sheetrock was put on the walls looking like a jigsaw puzzle. The shower shelves are not level. This job is a nightmare. ***** took 10,000$ from me. ***** only wants your money. I could not get him to come over to see this c*** work. I hired ***** because he seemed honest and was a local guy living like 8miles away. What a big mistake. The shower was partly installed not complete. We rushed making sure you had a place to bathe. That is normal when only one bathroom exists. When you only have the wifes car to work you do what you need too and get the job done. Especially when the owner had health issues and could not make the delivery or unload debris from your job site. I sent **** my top guy to make sure it was installed properly when you had concerns because of my health issues. Then you made threats to come to my home, that led to my call to the state police in concern for my family. I was advised to stop all work and I did. *****, you made your choice to badger my team and myself from day one. I am not sure what your motivation but its too bad you cant keep your emotions in check. You would have had a beautiful bathroom instead of an unfinished one. No one works well when someone badgers them. As far as the costs. ***** the vanity, surround and tub base alone a huge part of those costs. You were only charged for what is onsite and the work completed to date when you lost control of your emotions. Had we been continued 5 more days of work you would have had a beautiful bathroom. I apologize this happened the way it did. I apologize my body decided to cause me issues. I apologize for everything. I can only tell you we handled everything the best way possible in this scenario. I encourage you to complete your own work from now on. It seems you know more then experienced contractors.Review from Elena G

Dirigo property services remodeled a master bath for me and did a fantastic job, I have put off doing this bathroom due to being scammed by a few other contractors.**** came to look at my bathroom within a few days of me calling, and had an estimate within that same week. The estimate was reasonable and we signed the contract and work began within a few weeks, The gentleman that came to do the bathroom was fantastic, he was someone who worked from the time he arrived till the end of each day. I felt very comfortable with **** in my home and felt he had a passion for the work he did. I think he was just as excited to see the room come together as i was. Any concerns or questions I had they responded quickly with the answer, my bathroom is beautiful and i would highly recommend this company and will call them for any future projectsDirigo Property Services LLC Response
