I had my roof done by this business. I have run into problems with the work that they have done. I have asked repeatedly for a copy of my contract and bill. All of their correspondence has completely disappeared from my email account. I have checked everywhere, it is just gone.Business Response

First of all, I would like to say that I emailed you maybe 5 minutes before this BBB email came to us. We completed the roof that you are looking for paperwork on in February of 2022. We have gone back to work on a few adjustments since then and thought that things had gone well. On March 2nd we sent you 3 additional estimates for work that you asked us to quote well after the roofing work had been done and adjustments made. I am stating this here because I would like to point out that your 'complaint' to BBB is about needed paperwork (I think?) and not repair issues??
Anyhow, you are correct, you did call on May 30, May 31st and again today. You also sent us one email, today to which I just replied. We are extremely sorry that it took us 5 days to reply. Obviously, there was no way of you knowing this, but my mother is in failing health, and I have been taken away from my desk far more than I would like. This of course is difficult for couple of reasons, first because my mother is dying which is unbearable and second because not all customers have patience and understanding.
So, if you would like to take your complaint off of BBB, we would be happy to help you recover paperwork that you were unable to hold on to.
However, if you still have a leak issue, like ****** mentioned to you when he went down to give you the 3 quotes in March, we are more than happy to come fix this for you. He also wanted me to remind you that if it is still leaking, you will more than likely need some of the siding on the dormer replaced where the water was coming in.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.
After reading their response, I am not satisfied with their answer. They did not send me any paperwork or reach out to me in anyway.
They know that my roof is leaking, we have spoken about it. I do not want them to work on it because of the quality of their work.
I want the origanal agreement and the itemized bill. I have the payment transaction but I want the itemized bill from the job.
The flashing was not properly installed, and is missing in places. I have had another roofer inspect it and they said it was not installed correctly and it was "allowing water to come in."
I know about the issues with the dormer, but this is about the roofing job and how it was done. My roof is leaking, and I have water damage inside the house in two spots that are separate from the dormer.
I want all paperwork from the job emailed to me.
I was informed by the owner that members of the crew that installed my roof were "let go." I am now left with the faulty, negligence of their work.Initial Complaint

Contracted with ****** Williams to install a standing seam Metal roof on my newly constructed home 6/21/22 through *********************, contractor. This work had been quoted in 2021 as all work was delayed due to subcontractors availability until Spring 2022. Ice and Water Sheild underlayment was put on 7/18/2022 after being told by ****** that roof sheeting should be covered - sooner the better. Signed a contract for metal roof installation that ********************* supplied, paid a $5,000 deposit 8/10/2022. Work was promised to begin mid August and delayed multiple times with little notice or explanation. Thursday, 8/25/22, ********************* messaged me saying my color choice - Midnight Brown- was not available. Anxious to get a roof on, I chose another color - Classic Bronze - upset this decision was to be made in haste. First day of roof work was 9-1-2022 starting on the back side while I was at work. ********************* pointed out a buldge in the metal and told me this was due to uneveness in rafter sheeting. This unsightly buldge bothered me while roof work continued.A few conversations and later a site visit with ******, resulted in a trial of rolling the bulge out on a warm weather day. Was told it most likely would not work and could worsen. Expressed a solution to install the satellite in a position to cover the buldge. 10-6-22 I received a photo that showed the bump had been successfully rolled out. Skylynk satellite was installed 10/28/22. The employees and ****** were prompting me to pay the balance immediately. I sent the check in the mail 10/31/22 for *****. This is the amount I had signed the contract for on 8/10/22. ****** responded that the amount was incorrect and added quite a sum that I didn't agree to. My ************************** in working in the upstairs ****** noticed daylight coming in from the dormer sides. He went out to tape the areas to keep weather out - this happening after I spent loads of money on insulation, including spray foam. 12-23-22 Big storm of wind and rain. Leak on dormer floor, north corner. Emailed ****** to remedy problem. He responded back that payment of $2890 must be made PRIOR to coming out to see if the leak could be due to roof installation.Customer Answer

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. An email from ****** Williams stated that I must pay remaining disputed sum of $2800 before the company would come out to research the source of leak. Please advise me how to proceed to have a standing seam metal roof that I have paid $14,000 for and does not leak. This is new construction and is unacceptable.

Firstly,Construction was not delayed by our company. We worked as a subcontractor under another company. We did send the customer and estimate in 2021, it is unfortunate that several of her sub-contractors were delayed but that had nothing to do with us and more to do with all the delays that happened during the pandemic.
We were not even contracted to install the ice and water shield, this was supposed to be done by the builder (your brother) who was very delayed in the framing of your house.
When we were brought out there in May of 2022, we were asked to requote the roof because you had added a mudroom, didnt realize that the dry in material was supposed to be installed by the contractor and also to finish nailing off some of the plywood that had not been done by your brother b/c he was trying to get it framed as fast as he could and this would help him out. All of which we have still not been paid for.
We have multiple emails going back and forth with you where you recognized the extra work that we completed and also acknowledged that we did it and the extra price. We sent multiple invoices requesting payment and to see if we could meet up with you at the jobsite to go over any issues and we never heard back from you until you experienced a leak that looked as though by the pictures that you sent that it could have been coming in through a window or from the wall which still did not have siding on it. None of which was done by us.
As far as the complaint about the color, it was available in 2021 but unfortunately like everything else during the pandemic was not available a year later when we went to do the roof. They were only making 8 colors at that time due to being short staffed like the rest of the world. This was explained to you.
The bulge that you complained about as well as the skylight were both issues that were taken care of which you yourself also state right in your complaint so I am unsure as to why they are even complained about at all?
As far as the payment situation goes, the reason that my employees did ask to get paid was because the job was done. I am also not sure as to why this is a complaint either, a job was completed for you as agreed upon and payment is due upon completion. We did not get paid until 28 days later and at that point we were only paid for the original contract price and not for the additional work for the mudroom roof, the ice and water shield and synthetic that was all added after the original contract.
Even since then we have offered to come out and take a look at the roof and try to come to come to some sort of solution but you have told us that you would not. You seem to be just mad at something, we just are unsure as to what.
Again, the only time that we heard back from you was about a leak that we are not even convinced was due to our work. We said that we would be happy to come out and look at it if you uphold our end of the contract if you were to finalize it with payment at the same time.
Do you agree that we did extra work at an extra price that you did not pay?
Do you agree that we came out and fixed all issues that you brought up in your complaint prior to your call about a leak (that *** not even be coming in from the roof judging by the pictures).
As we stated to you via email when you reached out to us about a leak, if you would be willing to pay us the remainder the remaining balance owed we are more than happy to come out and take a look at it for you. Furthermore, in you last sentence you talk about spray foam and insulation. Our company did not do these things. Also, is the siding even on your home as of yet? If not, that *** be some of the issue.
We did not respond right away because we were never notified by BBB or otherwise that there was any complaint out there.
