In September, 2020 a contract was signed to demo, remove and replace outdoor stairs using TREX and vinyl railings. Another contract was signed to install a beam and 3 ***** columns. As of August, 2021 the job is incomplete. The step leading to the walkway is too high. The railings are not secured. There are concrete pieces dropped and dried onto the patio. The support beam is not placed according to code and the outside of the stairs has exposed wood which should be covered. One of three ***** columns is installed properly.This contractor exhibited a series of no-shows and unfulfilled projects. After notification in March, 2021 of the expectation of completion of this job and his responsibility to pay the difference incurred by a new contractor, he subcontracted this project. He has been paid $5800.00 of $6700.00 fees. The stairs need to be replaced again and I am requesting $2500 refund to help fund the project which will be performed by another contractor.Customer response

****** Desrochers was hired to remodel our basement. Contract was signed on March 4th. Total for all materials and labor; $28,100. Total monies paid $25,000. ****** committed to finishing our basement in 4 weeks. That included; framing of walls and ceilings, insulate all outside walls, install electrical wiring and breakers for lights and tamper proof outlets, install flooring, build kids hide out under stairs, rebuild stairs, replace basement windows, cover all walls with drywall, install baseboard, door casings, and window trim, install 5 doors, install carbon monoxide/smoke alarms, relocate Mudroom heat vent, and install two zone ductless min splits. Work was not complete after 14 weeks and material is missing. In the 14 weeks, framing, wiring, stairs, windows and drywall were complete. Attached is the contract, email thread listing material and labor missing, as well as receipts of what we have had to pay another contractor to finish the job. I can provide more evidence if needed.Customer response
