I took my dog to MA-RI emergency vet yesterday, March 1, 2022. She had vomited earlier in the day and kept having a gagging reflex along with excessive salivating. I was worried she had something stuck in her throat or stomach. They wouldnt let me go back with her , and I was told you had to have an appointment, Really ! Thats ridiculous !! If theyre so short staffed they should close, they did give me an appointment for 4 PM which was only about 15 minutes to wait. Once they took my dog I didnt get her back until 3 hours later ! They called me said they would take **rays , I sat outside in my car for the 3 hours. After the **rays ************* called me and said she didnt see anything in her esophagus or her stomach, she said her fat around her belly made it hard to see clearly! Really ! Its an **ray! Fat people get **rays all the time, mind you Im just thinking about this now as in the next day, then she asks me if I want them to take blood work, of course I say yes but again, isnt she supposed to be the vet ? Why is she asking me ? Doesnt she know if my dog needs blood taken in this situation ? They take the blood work and everything is normal as she tells me. Then she asks me if I want them to give her subcutaneous fluids along with a cerenia injection! Again , why is this vet asking me if I want them to do these things ?? Shes the vet ! Why isnt she telling me what is right and what is wrong ? More importantly, why am I not informed of what this is all costing ?? If I knew what should be done I wouldnt need to be taking my dog to a vet ! The **** came to ****** !!! Outrageous ! They kept my dog for 3 hours! Just not acceptable period ! I feel like they just kept up selling me ! No mention of the cost at any junction, just plain deceptive practices! I will not ever use them in any emergency at anytime ever again! They upsell you at every turn , preying on your emotions ! Im taking further steps from this complaint! No vet should practice this way !
