We were looking to get more insulation in our attic and called American Installations. They offered to do a Mass Save energy audit first, which anyone can do every 2 years. This included air sealing, attic duct replacement, installing vents into the attic for the soffits, and blown in cellulose fiber. We originally had R19 insulation in the attic and they brought us up to R60! Mass Save subsidized all this work, up to R49 and we paid a reasonable extra to get to R60. Before and after their work, they sealed the front door and did a blower test to check for air leaks. I can't say enough good things about how professional, efficient, and friendly the crew was! They made sure to seal off areas around their work to keep the house clean and vacuumed when they were done. You would never know that they had been here except that the house now feels warm, draft-free, and cozy! I highly recommend this company for quickly and easily installing insulation and making sure the house, over-all, is air-tight. I'm very grateful for their great competence and making it a very stress-free experience.Review from Mara M

Classic Bait & Switch...original quote was for 400. Then when installers come in the quote jumped to 1000. The installers told me that the person who did the original quote missed a lot of things and did not quote me correctly. When calling the company they said that I had the right to decline the extra work. I wanted the work done but just bad business. Do better!American Installations, LLC Response

This review does not accurately reflect the service American Installations provides to our clients.
There was no bait and switch. Our Installers found additional opportunity to get the client more incentives through mass save that would ensure their home was more efficient and maintained healthy ventilation standards. These additional items and costs were presented to the client prior to any work being completed by the crew. They had complete control whether they would like us to perform the work, or to use another contractor, but they made the decision to proceed with the additional opportunity that we could provide them through mass save, and agreed to the additional cost, and had our company perform all of the work fully knowing the new cost.
After we completed all of the work, they did not want to pay the final balance that they agreed to and wanted us to comp the additional work for free... We gave them a discount in the hopes that it would make them happier, which we did not have to do, and they still decided to trash our company on every review outlet possible. We will not provide work for this client again. Contractors beware.Review from Mildred M

Some friends of mine game my name and phone number to American Installations and American Installations called me to see if I was interested. I spoke with them and declined and thought that was the end of it. For 3 weeks I have been called at least twice a week with an automated message trying to get me to take their services. I have repeated in VERY adamant terms to stop calling me and yet they keep calling. Its very frustrating. Perhaps these people are good at what they do, but they are supremely rude and inconsiderate. For this reason alone, I would never do business with them.American Installations, LLC Response

Is this the only response?? I have a record of being called at least 5 maybe 6 times by your company, easily seen on my caller ID and phone company records. So while that statement might be their stated business expectation, this is definitely NOT what actually happens. Kind of surprising that they would come out this cookie cutter response without at least saying we will look into the issue. I have also submitted a formal complaint with MassSave and they stated they will perform an audit of American Installations.

Again, just to clarify. Our call records show that *** was referred to us for service by his friends, and we did not call them one time after he informed us that he was not interested. We did call him several times and left voicemails, but that was all before we spoke with him, and *** never answered those calls. *** called us back threatening to report us, etc. if we called him again, and of course, we never called him again. If someone tells us they are not interested and don't want to be called, we do not call them.Customer Response

What can I say, the above response is just plain false. I spoke with many callers and asked them to stop calling and the calls continued. I have no reason to make this complaint for purely malicious purposes. Whoever responded to this complaints is either untruthful or more likely they have poor record keeping methods. Seems like this is a good company, but they need to clean up their call center.
