This company advertised to us as being able to lower our freight bills. After speaking with them, I agreed to try them out with one of our vendors. Once I received the first set of freight (ground shipments) bills, I cross referenced the weight of the boxes that we were being charged for with what our vendor claims, and the discrepancies were enormous. Unishippers charged us a 50 lb freight cost for a pair of sunglasses, a box that weighed less than one pound. Their excuse was that dimensions were not accounted for, and that there was an out of area fee. The result was that the charge was 3x higher than it would have cost by not using their system, after being told we would receive on average a 20% discount. The other packages in the shipment were equally weighed very much higher than the vendor noted, and as a result, the freight cost was much higher. Unishippers also reached out to some of our other vendors and sent them a new routing guide without our authorization, again resulting in them charging us a higher cost than we would have received if we had used our own routing instructions. This company is horrible. I feel like we were scammed from the very beginning. Not a cent that we paid felt legitimate.

Shipping and logistics can be a complex and confusing process to those unfamiliar with shipping rules. Unishippers is a logistics coordinator and *** reseller. We are not the carrier, nor do we make the industry standard, or specific carrier rules for shipping. Unishippers does everything possible to educate our customers and provides a FAQ and Shipping tips upon enrollment, that specifically includes this very issue. That's just one of the reasons that we have thousands of happy shipping customers.Additionally, our shipping software specifically requests dimensions, which were not entered. Our service team also provided a link to the *** service guide detailing the Dimensional requirements.The charges were 100% accurate based on the shipment ******************** and if compared using the accurate data, this former customer would find that they actually got the best available price, contrary to how they may "feel". Lastly, here is the information we provide in our shipping tips regarding *** Dimensional Weight. We can provide it, but we cannot force our customers to read it, though I'm sure any reader would find it easily comprehendible. "All major express carriers use the greater of the dimensional weight or the actual weight of a package as the billable weight for all packages.Dimensional weight refers to how dense a package is, or in other words, the amount of space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight. Even if a package doesnt weigh very much, if it takes up a large amount of room, it costs *** more to ship that item. Ping pong ***** are a classic example of a shipment that has a low weight but a high volume.Example: Imagine two 5lb boxes. One contains Lead, and the other feathers. The box containing the lead would be very small as lead is dense and heavy. The box containing feathers would be VERY large as feather are light and you'd need quite a lot of them to equal 5 lbs. While both are 5 "Actual" pounds, the Lead would be billed by weight, and the feather by the space that the box takes up. " While we are disappointed that we were unable to explain this to the former customer's satisfaction, ********************** feels it did everything possible to explain what this customer was billed for and why it was accurate.
