I paid a 30% down payment of $2500.00 which was cashed on August 19, 2021. After many excuses and delays, Duval crews came on a very cold December 1, 2021, initiated and completed the project in the same day. On this day, I paid the remaining $5336.00 for a total of $7836.00. In addition to the items to be completed per contract, the team also installed two skylights and lead chimney flashing. On Friday, February 18th, 2022, I came home to find several missing and/or loose and flapping ridge cap shingles. I immediately phoned Duval Roofing and left a message. I followed up with an email. These particular missing shingles exposed the interior of the house to precipitation. Time was of the essence to repair the damage. It was almost 72 hours later Monday February 21st when I finally heard from Kim Duval about my roof. Because of Kim's delayed response I was forced to hire another contractor to repair the damage to my roof. Although Kim Duval said it was high winds, there were no storm related power outages February 17th-18th. Historical wind gust speeds were not high enough to remove properly installed shingles from a roof less than three months old. Both myself and this new contractor could see it was incorrect installation. He said the shingles are ruined and the whole ridge cap must be replaced. I had mentioned to him that the new work never "laid right" and he said that's because they left the old shingles and the shingles never cured. It turns out when I checked the contract, it clearly states to remove the old shingles, replace the drip edge, install ice and water barrier, install new shingles. It is reasonable to presume that "new shingles" includes a starter strip. This is a vital component to prevent premature deck rot. They were not installed. All of these things WERE NOT completed per contract. This is a blatant breach of contract. Duval roofing has been nothing but a nightmare from the moment they got my down payment. Please see attached for details.

I spoke with **** and he was going to delete his correspondence as I explained to him that he agreed to the wait time and the weather delays.    I do not think he has an issue any longer.

Last year Duvall installed a new roof. I originally had heat cables, which they did not reinstall because they said I would not need them anymore. However, water was damming in my gutter after the few snowstorms we had last winter. My roof was installed November 24, 2021. I called them on October 27, 2022, to ask them to reinstall the heat cables. ***, at Duvall, asked when the roof was installed. I told her and she said they would be out within a few weeks to install. I have been calling for a few months now, and no one is returning my calls.
