3/14/2022 I reached out to *** who was the owner of Melrose Glass for a window replacement price quote. Because I am not always on the property, I emailed him photos. After not hearing back after a few hours, I called the company and spoke with a front desk staff. The front desk staff said I need to provide a credit card for them to have on file before they can move forward with the quote and to set up an appointment for a ******* to come to my property to take measurements. On the afternoon of 3/14/2022 after providing my credit card information, I received a pricing quote based on pictures I sent in an email. On 3/16/2022 Melrose Glass had a ******* call to ask if they can take a measurement on a glass window that I wanted a precise quote for. It was not a pre-scheduled appointment. The ******* just happened to be doing work in the same building. I verbally stated that the company may take measurements of the window, however, do not put an order in for the glass fabrication as I have not confirmed on moving forward with the company yet. The ******* understood and said he would make note of that. The next day 3/17/2022, I received an e-mail from the owner **************** (nickname: ***) stating that he put in the order for the glass to be fabricated. After receiving the e-mail I sent 3 e-mails to the owner and spoke to the front desk staff twice via phone to let the company know I did not confirm on the service and transaction. The company made two attempts to charge my credit card hours after understanding that I did not want to proceed with their service. Then, the owner finally e-mailed me back to say that they will charge me $300 for the ******* who came to take measurements from the day prior (3/16/2022) and that the charge will be credited upon installation. Ive made very clear that I do not want service from Melrose Glass **** **** The company attempted to make fraudulent charges to my credit card and still speak as if they are going to provide service.
