We were living in CA while this home was being built. In the beginning ******* Danner was the yes man and would say things like this is your home so we will ultimately do what you want. We believed him. However he would ignore calls/emails/texts, and he would build the house how he wanted, without our approval. We would agree on something and he would do otherwise. He took advantage that we lived in CA and could not oversee the building, he took advantage of our lack of knowledge of new builds. When we moved out after many months of delays (which we were never upset with, rather things were done well than rushed). But we were moving across the country with a 6 week old infant so communication on the move in date was important. One week before we started our journey he said no delaysafter paying rent for a month ($1000), extending storage costs, we finally got to move in. But the battle was not over. We had come to find out a lot was not done the way we agreed upon or simply just not done. 9 months later he got most of the completion list done (but not well or not what was agreed upon) and then he said no to the last item (downstairs bathroom shelving). He is unprofessional and just not a good person to do business with. He committed fraud by charging us for something but not spending that amount and pocketing the rest (hardwood floors, all flooring, la undry room) Obviously I am hoping to recover some costs, but moreover I just want to prevent him from doing this to someone else. This has impacted us mentally, financially, and physically. I do not really know where to start. I started with trying to deal with *******, did not work very well. I think I will probably have to do legal action, but thought I would start with this. Id like to file a complaint on him, and open to any suggestions on where to go from here. I can provide emails of conversations/agreements that he did otherwise with. But I have a total of 67k we would like to be refunded.

      This is a duplicate

Same applies to the last response.

A&O Danner Companies has never contracted with this person.

The ****** family purchased a home that was built by A&O Danner.

The buyer had opportunity to "upgrade" items, they didn't want to pay for upgrades.

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********.

We bought this custom home from A & O Danner **** We signed before construction started. We barely got to customize the house, when we were supposed to. So we lost out on a lot of customizations that was the original selling point of the home and now would cost us more to change.

We did pay for upgrades (****** for the downstairs bathroom which we were only able to pick the tile. The tile was poorly laid down, not sure if spacers were used. The layout of the bathroom does not make sense, very poor utilization of space. He completed it prior to getting any input from us and then forced us to pay for it. It left this awkward space that he said he would install shelving. We have been following up on this for the past 9 months and finally got a quote. And his response was unprofessional as he just responded "no".

We paid for ***** for extra square footage in the basement, but this was supposed to be for a home gym. The unfinished walls would have been closer to what we wanted, but again no communication was available, so we paid ***** for no reason. His response was: if you don't want it, Ill sell to someone else. However we already moved across the country with our 2 month old baby and dog for this house so we had to accept his unethical practices.

This man/company took advantage of us, swindled money in many different ways / aspects of the building process, and did not uphold multiple aspects of the building contract.

      Regards,

      ******
