      My 2 month old son has a congenital heart condition. His cardiologist wanted for him to wear a ****** cardiac monitor for 24 hours to get a baseline of possible arrhythmias. First Call Medical sent me this monitor in the mail after receiving the order from the cardiologist. My son wore it and I was going to return it via ***** but it was lost. I contacted them to send me another one. I never signed any documentation that said Im liable for a lost monitor, nor was that disclosed verbally. They now claim I owe them $1,500 for that monitor! There is no documentation supporting this claim. Even worse, they wont send out another monitor for my son unless I pay that amount in full! Essentially withholding care to a baby. Insurances dont cover these. They then tricked/threatened my wife into getting payment information from her, unbeknownst to me. How do I get this resolved because I never signed anything that said this monitor is $1500 and I would be held liable! Please advise.

      Mother of minor patient called to pay for monitor that they admitted that family lost. She paid us with her credit card. Father of minor patient called us and was irate and extremely unpleasant. He alleged that his wife did not have authority to use credit card in her name and asked for charge to be credited. Charge was credited immediately so no payment was ever made to us for our equipment that family admits that they lost. Doctor who gave monitor to family forgot to have family sign acknowledgement that they were responsible for monitor. Once we learned that family did not sign a monitor receipt, we wrote off the **** to zero. There are no charges and there is no balance due to us from this family. Father of patient was belligerent to our staff and we have a zero tolerance policy so we cannot continue to work with this family.
