On July 30, 2011 I signed a contract with Rhino Shield of Louisiana to paint my house for $21,632.00 which I paid in full. It came with a 25 year warranty. The owner of the company was ***** ******. The project was complete on September 13, 2012. On 8-4-15 RS came out to sand, scrape and prime lots of peeling on the house. Also, there was a lot of wood starting to rot that had to be replaced. This had to be done again in January 2019. The problems continued to occur and it got so bad that I had **** ******** look at the house and give me his opinion. He said the product was definitely applied wrong and ALL my problems were because of faulty application. I contacted Rhino Shield Mid South, which is ***** Mmhat's current name for his company in June 2024. He told me he could not help me at all and that he no longer owned that company that it went bankrupt. He did say I could get the product under my warranty but that he had no obligation to help me or solve my problems. Fast forward to now, I had to replace a lot of rotten wood on the house as a result of the faulty application. I replaced the wood with ***** ***** board. The cost to me was $100,455.27. I know of several people who have also had similar problems and wonder how many people out there who have had this issue with RS. I have most of my documentation if needed.Business Response

I was a minority owner of Rhinoshield **********November 2012 I parted ways with the majority owner. I opened a similar company with a different manufacturer, January 2013 until January 1921. The manufacturer of Rhinoshield came back to me with new products and a new business opportunity along with a new business plan. Therefore this customer service has nothing to do with *********************************************************************** because my doors opened in February 2021. If she would like to take down this inaccurate complaint, Ill be more than happy to get the manufacturer involved but I repeat this is not my customer. This was from a company that terminated me in November 2012. Her contract was with Rhinoshield *********, who went out of business I believe in 2013 the majority owner change the name and handle all of the customers until December 2020. I have no information on this customer or anyone that is not a *********************************************************************** customer. My doors opened in February 2021.

This is the second BBB complaint I've made against Rhino Shield. The first complaint got the company to present a "resolution", and lie to the BBB about working with us to resolve our issue, but that was months ago, and no action has been taken by the company to resolve anything. Rhino Shield painted our house 5/2023. They came back out in 10/2023 and let us know they needed to repaint one side of our house, and fix a few things that they saw needed to be fixed. We didn't hear back from them until 2/2024, after we attempted multiple times via phone, text, email, to get someone to call us back. We were finally told that the paint that was used on our home was "a bad batch", which explained why we were starting to see just about everything their paint touched, was starting to rot. We were promised that someone would come out to look things over, and that new materials had been ordered, and that everything would be "made right". From 2/2024, to the present time, 12/2024, the company has given us the run around, promised they would fix everything, no one has come out, they barely return any communication, and now, EVERYTHING their paint is on is ROTTEN. The owner of the company, ***** ****** told us about a month ago, "I could have painted your house with water colors and it wouldn't have rotted the wood". To which I replied, "Then that should definitely tell you that there is something seriously not right with the materials & paint that was used by YOUR company, that is rotting our entire house". We received an email on 12/5 telling us they would be out to the house, again, another no show, and no communication from the company. We've reached out several times this week, with no response back. This company has taken full responsibility for the damage that has been done to our house. We have MANY emails and texts documenting that they are aware of the situation, and plan on "making everything right", but have yet to do anything about their product destroying our home.Business Response

I am extremely sorry for all of these headaches we are causing.
But we had an issue with the product recently as you are aware from the emails i have sent you & others.
My manufacturer & myself decided to test the homes that need service to uncover the root cause. We also decided to wait until the corporate or shall I say manufacture *** can come to your home & do some test before we apply product & still have issues.
We also have customers that have Christmas decorations & want us to wait until the week of Jan 6th.
Therefore he can address our home & the others that are having similar issues.

The company came out to evaluate our home, to be painted. We were given a quote ($25K), for paint that would "protect our house and last a lifetime". The company came out, painted the house, and left. That was May 2023. In October 2023 they came out to evaluate the work, and noticed several places on the house that needed to be repainted. They said they would be back out...November passed, December passed, and nothing. We called and emailed several times, no response. Then around March 2024 we started noticing several pieces of wood, on the house and up and down our staircases, was starting to rot. Again, we called, emailed...no response. I was able to locate the personal phone number of the Production Manager, ****** ******. We've text back and forth, I've sent pictures, he's told me several times they will be coming out, but still....nothing. The rot is getting so bad, the wood now has to be replaced. Rhino Shield stated during our original consultation that "The house would be prepped, and any rotten or damaged wood would be replaced by Rhino Shield, prior to paint being applied. Then they would caulk, seal, and paint everything so that it would be protected for life". It hadn't even been a year, and the paint started chipping, pealing, fading, the caulk is coming off the house, and the wood started rotting. I've been told that the business is now corporate owned. I've emailed the Manager, *****, as well as the Production Manager, ****** ******. ****** text me to let me know he got the email and would get it resolved, but I haven't heard anything yet from *****, or the Office Manager: ****** ********, or anyone else at Rhino Shield. My house continues to rot, and no one has reached out to us to get this issue resolved. (I have ALL communication between us, and Rhino Shield) Pics available as well. I also have the folder w/ paperwork in it stating what Rhino does, and how their paint is different than others, etc. I have pics as well. I also have all communication between us, Rhino, and the Manager, ******. His texts express that a lot of people aren't happy with their paint job right now, and lots of complaints coming in. He states that the company approved fixing/repairing/repainting our house, even stated the supplies have already been ordered...but still, no one has come out to do anything.Business Response

Customer purchased our Ceramic Acrylic Paint.(C.A.P.) This product only comes with a 5 year warranty.( on contract )The owner s chose not to move forward with our top of the line Rhino Elastomeric Ceramic Coating product. Attached you will find the AGREEMENT clearly stating that DECK Coating has NO warranty.
We have received the product (C.A.P.) to service the Rails.
As the owner of Rhino Midsouth I chose to order for my customers that have been neglected our top of the line Durable Finish Coat ( D.F.C.) This is our BEST product we can offer.
Unfortunatly most of our applicators were seriously affected by the most recent Hurricane ******* that destroyed University City in ******. We hope to schedule this service by Monday Sept 30th as per discussed with ****** Sept 10th

Job was finished on 1/18/23 after a few weeks the paint started to peal from doors and siding. I called to set up and apointment the workers came out and took pictures no one contacted me for weeks. I called back and was told that I was put on the list and would be called by the supervisor. As of today I still have not received a call or message from them. The amount of money that I paid to have my house and carport painted they should have been contacted. me in a reasonable amount of timeBusiness Response

Tell us why here...I have sent crew twice to his property. He has two areas that peeled not because of the paint but because he peeled them one with his holes one with a frame of a picture that he hung on the wall. Theyre very small areas. I told him that I was sending the crew to fix it both times the crew has been there. He wouldnt allow them to do the work I will send you the pictures

Also, I responded to his emails & called customer.He never responded back.

The Rhino Shield on my house faded so they gave me more paint but I had to pay the labor. Well, the paint they gave me turned colors. It is suppose to be blue/gray and is now PURPLE!!!! I am tired of contacting them to help me. This is ridiculous. This will be the 3rd time within 7 years the exterior of my house has to be painted. You would be frustrated too!!!!!!Business Response
