Major!! Major!! price gouging.. The technician I dealt with very incompetent and nervous. Be carful quick ****** search can save you thousands. Beware they use a *************** call than other companies tactic just to get In the door and then rip you a new one. He wanted to charge 280$ for a special gas per pound. When the average price is around 60-90$ of gas per pound. The tech said I needed 6 pounds of gas at 280$ per pound. when another technician came out the next day and repaired the problem for 60$ a pound.. my unit only needed two pounds of gas not 6 lbs. As he wanted to charge me for. Also wanted to charge for a clogged water line. That wasnt clogged. 125$ for a 8$ blower capacitor. That had no issues. But he insisted it needed to be changed. Which was most probably never even switched out according to a different company that came out the next day and looked at it. Life is hard as it is for a pos company like them to be doing this to people. Very sad. They were looking to make money more helping a family and fixing the issue plus potentially gaining more customers. The tech stated the only remedy was to change the entire system after researching the unit they wanted to sell me , It was a cheap unit for Roughly $14k $15k no new duct work included. My house is around 2000sqf. Not a giant house. Average a/c unit would be suffice nothing crazy. Even the warranty is ten years on parts only. No Labor or gas exclude. Beware..

I purchased a high-quality Top Tier Carrier name brand air conditioner unit, and I received a 2nd tier budget friendly name brand unit instead. The Bryant unit is 2K less value installed according to multiple other companies and from HVAC specialist on the internet. One of two of my 3-ton Carrier central air conditioner units went low on refrigerant, so I called American Cooling & Heating in Ponchatoula Louisiana for an inspection. The outcome was I needed to purchase another 3 Ton air conditioner condensing unit outside along with the evaporator coil in my attic. I told the Technician Brandon Talley the reason I called American was that it showed them being a Carrier dealer, and I wanted a carrier unit installed since that is what I have and was happy to get 16 years out of that one. He assured me they are a Carrier dealer and have these units in stock at their office, and they would install a Carrier unit. I expressed my concern having another Carrier unit on the other side of my house, and I wanted them to match. When I received the finance paperwork, they listed a Generic unit but had a picture of the Carrier unit I was purchasing. I called Mr. ****** a day before installing the unit to double check that it would be a Carrier unit installed and he assured me multiple times that it would be, even if my paperwork is showing a generic unit. The day of the install I went checked the unit shortly after they arrived and asked again if that are installing a Carrier unit and the installer said yes and he had a Carrier unit sitting outside the truck in my driveway. When I went to view the work. American had installed a Bryant unit instead of the Carrier unit I purchased. The salesman and installer lied to me multiple times, and this was well orchestrated. The Carrier units make much less noise and is much more energy efficient so don't tell me they are identical. I can't help but think this looks to be a clear case of BAIT & SWITCH to a 2K lesser value unit.
