      I made a deposit (by check) and I understand that the funds from that check should not be available for a day or two, but what happened with IBERIABANK is that they didn't just put a hold on the funds that I deposited. But they made my balance negative (for the amount of the deposit) with that hold, meaning that they used my positive balance to offset the amount of the hold. So if your deposit is bigger than the balance, you have to be ready to not be able to have the funds you had available at the time of the deposit for a couple of days. This is not right, your funds should be available at all times, even if you make a deposit bigger than them. This means I cannot buy food, or get gas, or medicine (with my own money) until they clear the check I deposited

      This letter is in response to your complaint submitted to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) dated 8/19/2021 regarding held funds.

      We have reviewed the hold that was placed on your account. We have determined that there was an error with the hold you referenced in your submission to the BBB. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. As of 8/19/2021 the error had been corrected and the funds in your account were fully available. We analyze all feedback received from our clients to search for process improvements and coaching opportunities with associates. We have documented this error and have taken appropriate steps to address this occurrence and prevent future occurrences.

      A copy of this letter has been submitted to the BBB to document our response. First Horizon values our customers and our reputation. We work hard to answer any question or correct any problem brought to our attention.
