I purchased a vehicle in February of 2021 from Tommy's quality used cars in Guthrie, KY. I was told by the owner that the car had NO issues and was in perfect mechanical condition. Two months after I financed it from them I noticed the engine was having problems, I even called the lot and they did nothing to try and accommodate me even though I explained i was told it had no problems with it. The engine has serious damage that I was told by a mechanic was already there way before I had bought the car. The finance company they set me up with expressed that if the motor were to blow up and I returned it to then I would be sued for the remaining amount owed. The car also has tons of maintaince issues I was lied to about as well. I'm not sure what else to do I can't return the car to the finance company as they stated I would be sued and my wages garnished. They have done this to hundreds of people over the years, scamming them.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/08/27) */ Contact Name and Title: ELVIN O********* GM Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ********************@yahoo.com There are several statements as part of this complaint that is not accurate. 1st) Customer bought a 2017 ******* ******** VIN: ************XXXX on 3/09/2021. He financed the vehicle through Credit Acceptance Corporation. 2nd) According to our call logs & records I do not have a report of request for assistance or complaint from ***** ******. Mr. ****** did purchase this vehicle from Tommy's Quality Used Cars, and that he signed multiple documents acknowledging that it was purchased "AS IS". It also shows that as part of his purchase agreement with Credit Acceptance that he also got a 24 months 24,000 mile warranty. I also called the warranty company before calling you and they confirmed as of 11:50am on 8/27/2021 he has not submitted a claim. The customer bought a car over 90 days ago and we have no records of his attempts to contact us. He has a warranty, and has not taken steps to use the warranty he has. We do not appreciate the slanderous comments without any facts to justify any of it. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/08/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The "warranty" the car lot brought up is not accepted by anyone that I've been able to call, car repair businesses, most if not all do NOT work with that warranty. Also we are not the first people they have scammed hundreds of people have been sold vehicles by them that were faulty, we simply just want the vehicle replaced. My husband and I have spent quite a bit of money fixing things on this vehicle that we were told was in good mechanical condition, the motor in the car is using about a quart of oil every six days and gets dirty as soon as you change it. I HAVE contacted them about the motor and possibly the transmission being messed up way before the 90 days they keep talking about I spoke with a woman who gave me no response when I mentioned it to her also I have talked with the finance company multiple times about the motor and told them that no mechanic around here will work with that warranty!! I am just trying to prevent my credit being ruined from having to forfeit the vehicle due to mechanical issues as I'm not going to pay 412$ a month for a car that doesn't run due to the lies I was told by the dealership. I also did not buy the car from credit acceptance it was bought from Tommy's quality used cars. Credit acceptance is only the middle man providing financing and a warranty no one will touch. I also have had the car at the ******* dealership in Nashville multiple times while it was under factory warranty for motor issues. But was told by them that ******* wouldn't fix the motor due to the warranty being so close to being out of date. I took it in there multiple times trying to get it fixed. The car dealership has not reached out to me in any way to try and make things right, I was scammed, and put into a financial contract that I'm now about to have to go into bankruptcy over due me having to get yet another financed car, because the ******** is not in the mechanical condition to be able to drive to my job everyday. I just want a resolution and this wrong be righted. This is no way to do business. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2021/09/15) */ Customer had optimum time to inspect the vehicle himself and by a third party prior to purchasing the vehicle. Customer was aware that he purchased the vehicle AS-IS. Our previous response stands. Per the warranty company, the customer never contacted the warranty company that they purchased through about getting vehicle fix.Initial Complaint

Bought a car for my daughter over a month ago and they haven't been able to get us a title. Paid it with a credit card. Called today and was was told the previous owner lost the title. How can they sell a car without a title? The car should have never been on the market to sell without the title and also, the car had an off market catalytic converter that was causing problems. When the old one was removed, a part was taking off to install the off market one. The car must have been reset so the check engine light was not on. The new one cost $2,000 and the the other part that is missing another $500. Waiting on the car malefactor to ship the part from Japan. Its a Toyota and is at ***** ****** ****** in ************Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2021/07/13) */ I understand your frustration, we share the same. It occasionally happens from time to time that a title has an error, misplaced or needs corrective measures. This is often a timely process. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve this issue. You will receive a title for the vehicle your purchased. As for the vehicle parts and repair, it is common for maintenance to be done on vehicles after the sale. We do have a parts yard/department that could assist you in your part needs, and because your a prior customer we can get you a discount on those parts. However all vehicles are sold as is. You were provided with a form that your daughter signed while both of you were here explaining that. This document is provided to you as part of your ownership packet.
