Several years ago I bought the premium bagger lights for my motorcycle. I was told they had a lifetime warranty. Now when you purchase the lights they tell you to test the lights before you install them. I understand they do not want you to install a light strip that does not work. So over the years since the initial purchase I have bought extra strips and more pods to light up my bike. The lights are super bright, loved them. But as with all things a few of the lights strips went bad. It is what it is. It happens. Show me anything that at some point does not break. I bought the lights with the lifetime warranty. With that being said. I did have to replace the strips that were broken and Boogey lights did honor the replacements. Since that time I had bought extra strips for my bike. I am not sure if the lights that I received were the lights that they warrantied or if they were more lights that I had purchased. I checked the lights I either purchased or they might have been replacement lights on 007/24/2021 ( I checked the photo image on my phone. Two strips, two mind you were faulty. I thought to myself that at some point I would need to send them pictures of the lights no working, and I did. I even took pictures of the 3M red plastic strip that covers the glue, to show that I had not yet installed them. I emailed them to Boogey lights and was advised that the lights might have not have been ordered from them. EVERYTHING I have ever ordered was through Boogey lights. I was told that I would need to find my receipt to show that I did in fact buy the lights from them. Who in the world keeps all you paperwork form everything you purchase. I then called Boogey lights and spoke with a subject that I had been emailing. I was advised that the lights were so old that Boogey lights has not sold those lights for years. Two I had to find a receipt. Three I might have not even bought the lights from them. I will never recommend them to anyoneBoogey Lights Response

Our records show three shipments to this customer over the past 7 years. Two of those shipments were for warranty claims (no charge) which in and of itself is unusual. The other was for a purchase made in ************************************************ this instance the customer contacted us asking us to replace LED strips which were supposedly brand new; never used. When we asked for photos of the strips it was clear the strips were not of a product we produced at least for the past 4 years. And even then, the *** shown on one of the strips wasn't a product we ever produced. Everything about this customer's claim was suspect. For starters, every LED strip and controller we ship out is tested at least 4 times before it leaves our facility. We don't ship brand new product that looks like the photos the customer submitted. Second, why would someone submit a warranty claim for a supposedly brand new, never been used product 4+ years later? We've done business with literally tens of thousands of people in the past 30 years. We never had a warranty claim like this. Ever. When in doubt, we ask the customer to provide more information about the purchase. It's a perfectly reasonable request any manufacturer would make. This customer however was unable to produce anything to substantiate he made a legitimate purchase from us. Nothing. Zero. To be clear, our warranty terms are quite specific. The warranty claim is only valid with proof of purchase of a legitimate Boogey Lights LED product from us or an authorized Boogey Lights dealer. If the photos he submitted had been of a readily identifiable genuine Boogey Lights product we would have honored the warranty request even without purchase documentation. In this case however we have reason to believe these may be counterfeit LED strips. Sadly, cheap counterfeit knock offs are a substantial problem in our industry. Boogey Lights is a well known AMERICAN premium built brand which is the target of fly-by-night companies selling cheap Asian LEDs. Our guess is that this customer purchased these LED strips elsewhere believing they were genuine Boogey Lights LEDs when in fact, they weren't. We're sorry he's unhappy but it's not our fault. We believe we acted appropriately given the circumstances. More importantly, anyone who reads our online reviews will quickly see our warranty replacement policy is quite liberal. It's the best in the industry. We go out of our way to give customers the benefit of the doubt. In this case, the customer couldn't give us anything to support the purchase of a genuine Boogey Lights product so we denied his claim.Review from Gina G

I ordered some awning lights 20 days ago, have not received them. Tracking shows a label created but post office never receiving package from Boogey Lights. Boogey Lights will not refund my money until **** approved their claim. They told me I can file a dispute with my credit card company. Here is the mind set of the people I have dealt with on the phone, They told me they would ship out another set of lights today but I needed to pay for themBoogey Lights Response

On September 10, 2021 this customer placed an online order for our ***** awning light kit. She choose free shipping via **** instead of electing to pay a little more for *** which as our checkout page states is generally more reliable. We shipped her order as requested using **** on September 15. On September 27, 2021 customer reached out to us via text stating she hadn't received her order. The tracking number wasn't scanned at the local **** facility as often is the case so we reached out to ****. They advised that we couldn't file a claim until 15 days have passed (Sept 30). We shared this information with the customer. She insisted we either ship another order of the ***** immediately or issue a refund. We advised her that we were out of stock on the ***** until mid October and that until **** had processed our claim, we wouldn't issue a refund. We did offer to ship her an RGB awning light kit for free with the understanding that if the ***** awning light kit showed up (which often happens with **** claims like this), she'd agreed to ship the kit back to us or pay for it. She rejected our offer and again demanded an immediate refund. We again advised her that until **** acknowledged one way or another the status of our shipment we couldn't issue a refund. On Sept 30 we filed the claim as we said we would. We are currently waiting for their response which we're told takes 7 to 10 business days. Our experience has been that it's not unusual for the filing of a **** tracking claim to trigger an investigation where the package is located, usually in a local sorting facility, where it is ultimately then delivered to the customer. Regardless, if **** says the package is lost we will immediately process her refund. In our view, we performed precisely as we said we would. We shipped the order promptly and did so using the shipping method she selected. When she reached out to us saying she hadn't received the shipment, we immediately took action to locate the package. We believe her demand for an immediate refund without the carrier's verification of the shipment's status is unreasonable.Review from Scotty S

I messed up and didn't install the lights correctly but I was seeing if it was covered under the warranty... the President of the company responded and said I had no common sense... I said he was being a jerk and now he said he isn't doing business with me period so now my lights on my camper is all messed up with no way to fix them... oh he also said I was acting like a child for saying he was a jerk for putting me down... Don't do any business with this guy or his company if something goes wrong you get called names ... I also have screen shots of the whole conversation..Boogey Lights Response

Boogey Lights has been in business since ****. During that time we've interacted with literally hundreds of thousands of customers. A quick check of our product and customer service reviews on platforms such as Trust Pilot and Shopper Approved will give you a well rounded perspective of how we treat our customers, how people like our products and how we do business overall. Our customer reviews speak for themselves. We get very few negative reviews but when we do, there's always more to the story; much more in this case. This former customer contacted us on Sunday August 1st stating he only had his lights for a few months and they already "cracked" and stopped working. While it would be highly unusual for a new set of LED lights to fail like this, we took him at his word and asked him to file a warranty claim and include some close up photos of the lights both on and off. On his first submission, he didn't provide those close up pics as requested. We asked him for clarification on the installation. He answered some of our questions but didn't answer all of them. When he sent us the close up pic we originally asked for, we again asked a question about the installation. At first he didn't answer the question. Upon asking it again in a different way, he responded by confirming what we thought - he installed the LED strip in a way that we specifically advise not to do as it will fail (and void the warranty). We advised him that we couldn't cover the strip under warranty due to how they were installed but offered a 40% discount on a replacement to help him out. His response was to tell us it should be covered under warranty and that the 40% wasn't good enough. That he was somehow entitled to a 60% discount. At this point we were suspicious he knew he screwed up the install but was trying to get us to give him a replacement light strip for free. Since he wasn't willing acknowledge that it was because of how he installed the lights that they failed, our was response was to explain in much more detail why it wasn't covered under warranty based on the photos he had provided. In one of the photos the LED strip was sharply bent and routed through the metal frame of the *** Just bending the LED strip that way voids the warranty but based on his photo there was no protection to keep that LED strip from chaffing against the metal edge as the ** goes down the road - and we told him as such. We told him that common sense says not to install an electrical cable through a metal hole on a moving vehicle that way. That he was lucky it didn't catch on fire. We also provided four attachments to the support ticket showing where in our kit and installation information explicitly warning customers not to bend the LED strip or install it as he had done. And finally, we explained a 40% discount was the best we could do and were happy to do it to help him out. His response was to avoid any material discussion of the matter and instead started name calling. It was at that point where we rescinded our 40% discount offer and told him to take his business elsewhere. We explained we simply won't do business with people who act that way. For the next hour or so he continued to send us messages asserting that the hole he drilled in the metal had a piece of rubber protecting the LED strip (even though none of his photos showed any indication of that protection) while completely ignoring the fact that the strip failed because of how he installed it, not because of a defect in the LED strip itself. Each time our response was respectful and to the point using the information he himself provided. The fact that he perceived our responses based on the information he gave us as somehow "putting him down" isn't our problem. We're sorry his feelings were hurt but if you're going to start blaming others for your own mistakes, you'd better be prepared to defend your actions. In our view this customer knew he installed the strip incorrectly. He expected us to replace it at no cost to him and when we called him out on it, he resorted to personal attacks. We stand by our handling of this matter. Personal attacks are a red line for us and he crossed it. We were prepared to help him out with the deepest discount we could under these circumstances. He rejected our offer and refused to accept responsibility for why the LED strip failed. His review here is the very first statement we've seen from him acknowledging he "messed up and didn't install the lights correctly". Had he simply stated that up front instead of trying to get something for nothing and then following up his comments with personal attacks when he didn't get his way, he would have been a "happy camper". Instead, here we are.
